Creylen had finally arrived home for summer break. It had been too long since he had seen the familiar place that held so many memories from growing up. Very few people were able to call the same place home the majority of their younger life, however it was a luxury Creylen treasured. He could look around the yard and the house and recall many memories that he held. There was the window where one of his younger friends had thrown a baseball through at his 7th birthday. Then there was the makeshift hoops they had used for Quidditch at his 10th birthday. So many memories that he wouldn't trade for the world.

He walked into the plain looking house with the small porch. The light yellow two-story house with a brick base had served as his humble abode for many years now, but as he returned each year he felt himself growing further and further away from it. He loved the little taste of muggle world whenever he came home. Mum would never let them live in a house that was beyond their means, nor one that had any sort of magic on it, other than the protection and detection spells of course. Mum always preferred the muggle way of living and Creylen rather enjoyed it himself.

He was somewhat surprised to not find anyone home. He knew that they were both probably off doing something important like saving the world or shopping. He had managed to get home via a friend of his that he had stayed with the beginning of break. It was weird coming home to no one, however there was always Siobahn, who of course met him at the door. He leaned down and grabbed his darling and made his way up to his room which was at the top of the stairs immediately to the left. He dropped his things off and laid down on his bed. It had been a long year and he now had the opportunity to take a bit of rest. He looked around his plain room with the white walls, that he himself had painted. All of his posters were down now and it looked as if the room was being used as a guest room, which was probably very much the case. Any extra money that they could get came very much in handy. They were by no means rich, which also accounted for the rather small house in comparison. They may not have a lot of money, but they did know how to have fun was a motto that his family shared. He smiled at the thought of finally having gotten home.

Getting off the tube stop she knew to be the closest to where Creylen lived, Alex bit her lower lip and headed up to the surface and glanced down at her directions first and then at the signs around her. Perhaps she should have actually printed a map, or better yet, just flown. Though, she was determined to do it the muggle way. She got around the city and the outskirts by tube for a year before Hogwarts and since then whenever home. She certainly should be able to find his house, right? She did find Grimmauld after all, his shouldn't be much harder.

Glancing at the street signs, she nodded as she saw the direction she wanted and took off on foot, turning here and there and getting a bit more nervous with each step she took. Maybe she should have phoned before coming over instead of just showing up. Though, it had been an impromptu trip that morning. She pulled up the directions on her computer after digging out her address book simply out of curiousity for how long it would take to get there from here. By broom, it seemed it would just be a half hour flight, but trained to fly in muggle areas or not, no reason to risk being seen if she could just take the tube over.

As she continued on, she doubled back once, when she realised she had just passed her turn, but other than that, she had a fairly easy trip and a nice walk. It was only about a half mile or so from the closest tube stop, but she was grateful, she had decided to wear a pair of white sneakers. Much more comfortable for walking in than the sandals she had originally been wearing that morning with her jeans.

Finally, reaching his street, she nervously pushed her hair behind her shoulders and straightened her favorite pale purple peasant style blouse as she searched for the right number. Taking a deep breath as she found it and stood in front of it for a moment, she headed up the walk and raised her hand to knock, pausing slightly. She didn't see any cars. Now she was really questioning her decision to come there. She really should have called ahead... he probably wasn't even home. Though, after another deep calming breath, she finally knocked on the door, to alert the occupants, if any, to her presence.

Creylen had nearly dozed off on his bed before he heard a knock at the door. Being in a muggle part of the city, he had been dressed in some of his nicer khaki shorts and a button up shirt. No one could say he wasnt stylish thats for sure. He really enjoyed looking nice for the ladies, with one being the main reason. He slowly got up off of the bed to go answer the door. Surely, his parents friends would know they were out today, not expected to be back until much later that evening. Maybe it was a solicitor. That was the main bad thing about living in a muggle neighborhood. They always come by trying to sell you a subscription to their magazine or cookies. Actually the Tagalongs they bought from that one cute girl that one time were amazing, but that was beside the point. He doubted anything like that happened in wizarding neighborhoods.

As it was, he made his way slowly down the stairs to the door. Being that the door was at the foot of the stairs it was a fairly easy trip, and almost a literal one as he got to the bottom and nearly crashed down. Maybe that whole walking thing was beyond him. Who knew. He was so much more comfortable on a broom. Anyways, he finally made his way to the door unaware of the amazing surprise that awaited him on the other side of the door. He took a brief look through the blinds and his heart leapt when he saw who it was. He quickly let the blinds go and beamed a smile. He never thought in a million years that she would make her way over to his house, like he had done before, but there she was, looking as elegant as ever in her favorite color.

He knew that he looked a mess, having not had the opportunity to 'freshen' up, however he was afraid that if he made her wait any longer then she would think no one was there. That would be compounded by the fact that there were no cars in the driveway. He was surprised that she had even knocked with the obvious signs that there was no one there. He faced the door and slowly reached for the knob. He turned it and pulled the door open and astounded himself with her amazing beauty. He was left speechless for a second before he composed himself.

"Hey," he managed to get out with a grimace. "Sorry," he said. "You just surprised me." he added walking to her to give her a hug. "How are you doing?" he asked as if he had just begun speaking that day. First walking and now talking. It was going to be a long day if he kept this up.

Glancing at her watch, she frowned slightly. Oh yeah. Definitely a bad idea to come without calling. Maybe she should have just gone to her mum's studio instead or heck, called before coming. She was just about to turn away and head back down the walk when she heard movement inside. Well, more than movement, it sounded like a stumble or someone very heavy footed on stairs. Whatever it was, it meant that someone was home after all. Perhaps it was a good idea after all?

Giving a small smile to the eyes that peeked out the blinds, she suddenly realised that it was a good idea. She would know those eyes anywhere. She did spend enough time sneaking looks at them, after all.

Waiting patiently as he opened the door, she bit her lower lip. Hopefully he wouldn't bee busy or anything. She was quickly getting back to the 'maybe she should have called' thought process. That was only reaffirmed in her mind when she took in his reaction. He was quiet. Maybe he thought she had been someone else?

'Oh no... he doesn't look happy to see me....' she thought as she noticed the grimace cross his face. Maybe this was a mistake coming over.

"I'm all right..." Alex said returning his hug with a small smile before stepping back and biting her lower lip. "I'm sorry... I probably should have called before just showing up... You're probably busy... We can hang out later or something... if you want to that is...." Alex trailed off nervously.

"I'm all right...I'm sorry... I probably should have called before just showing up... You're probably busy... We can hang out later or something... if you want to that is...."

"No, no, no...it's absolutely fine." he said quickly to not give her the wrong idea. "It's just that I was....well surprised is the best way to put it." he said with a smile. "I hope that everything is going ok, and that you have just decided to come visit me for no particular reason." he said with a hopeful look. "We dont often get visitors around here." he said with a smile. "Well at least not too many of the wizarding variety." he added with a grin. He was truly happy that she had made her way there. It was one of the better surprises that he had ever received.

He then realized that they were just standing there on the front porch chatting away and he hadnt even bothered to invite her inside. "You are welcome to come in," he said opening the door wider. "Pardon the mess though, we werent expecting guests." he added. As soon as he opened the door, Siobahn ran out of the door to the front yard. "Oops," he said. "Wait here," he added as he took off after his arctic fox. It took him a while but he managed to catch her and bring her back to the door. "Siobahn, meet Alex. Alex, Siobahn." he said with a smile. "She loves the outdoors, but we only let her outside in the backyard." he added.

He walked inside allowing Alex to follow him down the narrow hallway beside the stairs into the kitchen. He then took an immediate right into the living room. "Feel free to take a seat on the couch or the recliner and tell me about your trip." he said with a smile as he grabbed the other recliner. "I want to know about your summer too." he said with a wide grin.

"Good surprised I hope..." Alex said in response to him being surprised to see her. She was trying to push the feeling that she should have called first out of her mind and accept that he was happy to see her there.

"No specific reason for the trip other than I well.. I missed ya and thought it would be fun to take a trip out here...." Alex said trailing off as a pink tinge creeped up her cheeks and stepped over the threshhold as he opened the door only to step back out it as Siobahn bolted out the door. Turning to watch Crey as he tried to catch his pet, Alex grinned as she watched the fox attempt to outsmart him. Though, it looked more like Siobahn thought it was a fun game to Alex. How long will it take for me to get caught? Yep, definitely a fun game.. for a fox anyways... or any animal really. Alex's bat and hawk liked to play that game too.

Leaning down slightly when Crey brought his artic fox to meet her, Alex held her hand out in front of her nose for her to sniff before reaching out to pet her. "She's beautiful, Crey... and seems to enjoy giving you a run for your money... I like her already." Alex said with a wink as he headed inside and Alex followed behind.

Taking a seat on the couch, Alex shrugged her shoulders. "Well... the trip was interesting. I always have to relearn the tube system every summer it seems. At least for the stops other than the studio and the closest one to home. Living at Hogwarts most the year keeps it from becoming second nature... but other than that, the trip was fine. I got directions through mum's computer, so, it was pretty easy. Only passed one turn and realised it right after I passed it, so no big deal. It was a nice walk." Alex said smiling. It was nice, no rain, sunshine, birds singing. It was a beautiful summer day.

"As for the summer.... same as always. I'm boring." Alex said laughing. "I am generally at the studio as usual. Though, Juliana wants me to come see her at some point and also our annual get together for p- with Livy, Nick, Vivi, Kyra, and Joe if he floats on in will be happening later on. I'm supposed to meet them over at Nick's house in about.... three weeks, if I remember correctly."

"Pretty quiet at home... well, as quiet as it can get with a full house, of course." Alex said shrugging her shoulders slightly. "Aura is visiting Lazarus and his family.... what about you? Anything exciting planned for the summer?"

"Good surprised I hope..."

Creylen smiled. "Of course." he said with a smile. "It's a very pleasant surprise. I wondered the other day if I would get a chance to see you this summer."

"She's beautiful, Crey... and seems to enjoy giving you a run for your money... I like her already."

Creylen smiled. "She isn't the only one that likes to give me a run for my money." he said returning the wink. "We play together outside all the time, mostly in the backyard. Most of the neighbors have not yet mentioned how weird it is for us to have an arctic fox. I think they believe it to be an albino, but that would show they know very little about foxes." he said with a wide smile.

"Well... the trip was interesting. It was a nice walk."

Creylen smiled at her, and for some reason couldnt ever seem to stop. "That's wonderful. I've rarely been on the tube. I prefer flying however around here it can be tough. We can do it in the yard thanks to Dad's protections, however it becomes dangerous once you leave the yard, and frankly flying around the same yard over and over again can be somewhat...well, boring. Especially when you have been in the same yard most of your life. Thankfully its a large one. Big enough for a miniature quidditch pitch," he said pointing to the makeshift goals in the backyard. "Dad and I used to play quite a bit. We would invite teammates over to play with us at times when the local pitch was booked. It wasnt anything spectacular, however it was quidditch." he said with a wide smile.

"Pretty quiet at home... well, as quiet as it can get with a full house, of course. Aura is visiting Lazarus and his family.... what about you? Anything exciting planned for the summer?"

Creylen gave a sad look. "I had nothing planned for the summer. Maybe a little bit of summer homework and relaxing around the house. Mum and Dad have been talking about a vacation this summer however the chances of that happening now that things have picked up around work for the both of them is slim. It looks like it is going to be a long, long summer for me. Maybe that isnt such a bad thing though. I have got loads of work to do and loads of chores to take care of. With next year being OWL year for me, it is going to be a busy one so that means I have got loads of work now." he said with a grimace. "Speaking of OWLs, how do you think yours turned out?" he asked with a smile, knowing as smart as she was, that she would have done wonderfully.

"Hey I have got something to show you." he said with a smile. "Umm...do you have a heavy cloak? You are going to need it." he said with a grin. "If not you can borrow one of mine."

"The tube can be fun.... as long as you follow the map well. But, it's always pretty easy to get unlost if you happen to get the wrong stop. I like it." Alex said nodding and then following in the direction he pointed with her eyes where she saw a wonderful sight. Quidditch hoops? "Oh wow... you have a pitch? Miniature or not that is awesome... I go through quiddy withdrawal over the summer... though, I do sneak out on my broom occasionally when it's dark... just uh... don't tell my mum that. She'd have a coronary if she knew. Well... considering she thinks I'm sound asleep... only time I can really fly at all since my parents are muggles and the neighbors as well... at least the neighbors are now."

"No wonder you're so good.... being able to play whenever you want growing up...." Alex continued and trailed off as she saw a sad look cross his face.

"Eh... sometimes nothing can be wonderful. I mean, I don't have anything really either and that made it so I can come see you... and a couple other people too later." Alex said adding the last part quickly, blushing slightly. "Umm... anyways.. OWLs... I've come to the conclusion the professors were plotting out deaths last year... I had seven at one time! got lucky first term and had three... but made up for it in second term with seven! Not a clue how I did on Potions and Herbology... those are the ones I'm really worried about it.... though, I'm concerned about Care of Magical Creatures too since we didn't have any lessons other than one... I'm trying not to think about it so much... it'll make me go nuts with the wait to see how I did... I just hope I don't fail them all and have to repeat the whole year... That would be awful."

"Umm.. a heavy cloak? It's summer, Resperv... why do I need a heavy cloak?" Alex questioned raising an eyebrow. "My cloak is at home... so won't do much good... why? What are you going to show me?" Alex questioned again, her curiosity rising.

"Umm.. a heavy cloak? It's summer, Resperv... why do I need a heavy cloak? My cloak is at home... so won't do much good... why? What are you going to show me?"

Creylen smiled at her. She had no idea of the treat she was in store for. "Hold on one second. I will be right back." he said with a smile as he ran out of the living room and up the stairs. He entered his room and grabbed his heavy cloak out of his trunk. He looked at the mess inside. That would all have to wait as he had much more important things to take care of. He looked into his closet as well. There he found one of his other, not quite as heavy cloaks, but strong enough to withstand where he was going now. He put the lighter of the two on and started to make his way back out of the room. He stopped at the door when he noticed something on his desk that he had forgotten about. He had wanted to bring it to school during the school year but had always forgotten. However he had the perfect opportunity to get some use out of it now, so he picked it up and put it in the pocket of his jacket. He thought Alex was going to be doubly surprised today.

He quickly made his way back downstairs with his cloak over his arm. He called to Alex, "Hey Alex, come back to the hallway." He casually waited until she made her way to him. "Here put this on." he said sliding the cloak on her arms and over her shoulders. He reached around her to pull it tight. "You are going to want to keep that and the hood on." He saw a look of doubt in her eyes, however he knew better.

He walked to the only door on the right side of the hallway and opened it up. Inside of that door was another room. There was all kinds of snow gear around the room which must have looked rather odd to someone that was familiar with London. No one in London needed THAT much snow gear, unless they had what was on the other side of the other door in the room. Creylen closed the door as Alex and Siobahn followed him into the room. "You ready?" he asked with a smile.

He reached for the handle of the other door and opened it. The light was blinding, well nearly, if he hadnt been expecting it. Once your eyes adjusted the scene was magnificent. The seemingly small garage on the outside was a great expanse of snow covered hills inside. It was as if you had just walked into the arctic. There was snow everywhere and even snow falling from the roof, well it was magicked to look like the sky as well. The sun was shining however it was frigid outside. The cloak was doing an effective job of protecting him from the wind however. Gallivanting around the area you could see lemmings, rodents, birds and carrion. It had to be an amazing sight for anyone who had never seen it. Creylen loved to come here and play with Siobahn when he had the time and was at home. He figured to be here fairly often this summer. There was also a large pond which was frozen over but there was a hole that could be used for ice fishing. He watched as Siobahn went running around the area and caught a rodent and started to eat it. Thankfully it was hidden behind a rock. "Sorry about that. Didn't expect her to do that." he said with a smile. "Must have been hungry. So, what do you think? Siobahn and I spend quite a bit of time out here playing and relaxing. It is a rather beautiful place to be most of the year." he said with a smile, looking up at the sky with a look on his face like he was reminiscing. "Particularly when it is raining outside."

As she was waiting for him to return, she started to glance around her surroundings in the living room. What she would call people watching, were there any people, so you could say she was more object and fox watching. Though, it was short lived as she heard his voice calling from the hall.

Smiling to herself, she got up from the couch and headed the way she had entered the room to see Crey there with a cloak on and one over his arms as he was waiting for her. She was very curious and slightly skeptical about the whole cloak wearing in the summer, but he seemed to know what he was doing and so started to reach out for the cloak only to have him give her help putting it on. She could feel the heat rise in her cheeks as he reached around her to tie it tight. She knew her eyes had to be reflecting her doubt, but she trusted him and so did as she was instructed and kept the hood up and the cloak pulled tight as he opened a door revealing... snow gear?

"Yeah... I'm ready.... you have my curiousity more than piqued." Alex said with a grin as she looked arund at the various snow related items. It wasn't possible, was it? Though, they did have an Artic Fox and it would prefer the snow and they were a wizarding family. One thing Alex had learned in her short time in the magical world, was the things she thought not possible, could indeed be possible.

That was her final thought as he opened the door and let in a blinding light. Tilting her head down against the light and the cold, she tried to get her eyes to focus on the bright whiteness. It took her a couple moments to get adjusted, but finally, she looked up and her jaw fell slightly. It was amazing. There was a whole new world with in his house. It was, in one word, breathtaking.

"Oh wow... how? How is this possible?" Alex questioned and stepped out in it after Siobahn had taken off. Though, it wasn't long and the fox had tracked, caught, and was enjoying a prey, causing Crey to apologise.

"Just thing... she could have brought it back as a gift to you. Isis does that... she will catch mice at night and will leave them for me as a present. She's always so proud of herself." Alex said laughing. "It's always interesting when you have a predator as a pet.... in other words.. nothing to apologise for. It's normal."

"This is... this is wonderful, Crey..." Alex said trailing off and turning around out in the snow to take in the full scene of the hills and the pond. As he looked up, thinking, Alex leaned down to touch the snow. It felt so real. She wasn't sure if it was or not, but perhaps it was a charm of some sort to create the right snow weather in the room, making it real, but not natural.

Pulling some in her hand, she stood back up, squishing it together in her hands. She loved the feel of the snow crunching in her hands. Just as the thought crossed her mind to make it into a snowball, she paused. "Why particularly when it's raining outside?" she questioned instead of tossing the snow at him and simply played with it, squishing it and making it crunch in her hands until they were emptied. "Just the different enviroment? Snow vs Rain?"

Posted by: Creylen Turlough Mar 26 2005, 11:35 PM
"Oh wow... how? How is this possible?"

Creylen smiled. "When your father is an auror and works for the ministry of Magic, just about anything is possible. He explained to people at work about the pet that we have and what we needed. The next thing I knew there were people here to set up this amazing environment. Of course, it looks like a garage from the outside so no one knows any different. Since all of the muggles park in their driveways or on the street anyways, our parking in the driveway looks normal." he added. "It has been a haven for me. A place to get away from the world. One of the things I have always wanted to do." he said with a smile.

"Just thing... she could have brought it back as a gift to you. Isis does that... she will catch mice at night and will leave them for me as a present. She's always so proud of herself."

Creylen grinned. "Siobahn isnt one for sharing. Her parents must not have raised her right." he said with a smile. "She usually keeps to herself when on the prowl and eating. I can say that I am honestly glad for that." he concluded. "It is fun to sit out here and watch her have fun and get her food, plus it saves us money on things like that. Somehow this place just regenerates wildlife, snow, everything. It truly amazes me."

"This is... this is wonderful, Crey..."

Creylen looked over at her. She seemed to be enjoying herself and he was glad that he could share it with her. Very few people had been in the room with him. As a matter of fact only one other person outside of his immediate family had been there, but she was no longer living.

Creylen watched as she made a snowball in her hands and he was fearful that she was going to throw it at him. He wasnt much in the mood for a snow fight as he was afraid of what he might lose in the snow. "I have never been sure if the snow is real or not. It feels real and tastes real, and well it even falls real, so I would go with real, but you know. It is just one of those things that I do not know."

"Why particularly when it's raining outside? Just the different enviroment? Snow vs Rain?"

"I have always loved the snow. I was born outside in the snow. I know its weird but its true. Do not get me wrong I enjoy the beach and the sunshine, but if I have the choice of weather it will be snowing. There is just something about it that warms me up when it is falling." he said with a smile. "Besides as much as it rains here, it is nice to see some of the white stuff when you can only wish for it in the real world."

He looked over at his favorite rock. The one he and Siobahn usually sat on, overlooking the frozen water and the sun shining down on it. "Come with me," he said grabbing her hand. He slowly walked with her over to the rock and sat down and stretched his legs. "I love to come here just to think or clear my mind and not think about anything. It is my favorite spot to relax and enjoy myself. I enjoy the view and the cold wind whipping across my face. Almost as much as I enjoy spending time with you." he said with a smile. He looked into her eyes, wondering just what she was thinking and hoping that he hadnt over stepped his bounds. "Thanks for coming to visit me today. It really means a lot for you to travel like that for me...and well the others too," he said with a grin.

"You were born outside in the snow?" Alex questioned tilting her head slightly. "That sounds like a story definitely worth hearing. But yeah, I agree... there always is something magical about being in the snow. I always love that first snow fall of the year. It always seems... special, some how. Thank you for bringing me in here." Alex said smiling warmly at him. She liked the thought that he was showing her this. Almost like he was letting her in on a secret of his. Soemthing that he didn't have to show her. Even with her arriving unannounced, they could have simply sat out in the living room and hung out. She much preferred this though.

Her inward thoughts were broken into when she felt his hand take hers and him asking her to come with him. She, of course, obliged. She wasn't sure where he wanted to take her, but she held on to his hand and allowed herself to be lead over to a rock he then sat down on. It looked to be big enough for her to sit down too, but she was still taking in the sights aroud her and preferred to stand for the moment longer. Though, that didn't last very long and she joined him on the rock, returning his smile as she did so. "Good... Cause I always enjoy spending time with you as well... Why else would I come out here so soon? I haven't gone to see anyone else yet..." Alex said trailing off slightly and blushed, shrugging her shouders slightly. "I missed you.... and well... you came my direction last summer, so I thought it might be fun for me to come your direction."

"Thank you again for sharing this with me... it's really amazing." Alex said and then realised that she had said that a few times now already. She needed to stop the babbling. At least she was only repeating things like that and not true babbling yet. Her nerves hadn't kicked into high gear quite yet.

"So, does Siobahn have a favorite game she likes to play out here?" she questioned, deciding to bring the artic fox back up to try to calm her nerves and wrapped the cloak around her jean clad legs, grateful fot the cloak. "Now, I see why you said I would need this... I definitely couldn't come in here without it."

"Good... Cause I always enjoy spending time with you as well... Why else would I come out here so soon? I haven't gone to see anyone else yet. I missed you.... and well... you came my direction last summer, so I thought it might be fun for me to come your direction."

Creylen smiled, remembering last summer and the time they had spent together. He had been meaning to ask her out then, however they had been interrupted by the letter letting him know that he had been chosen as a prefect. Sadly that had delayed things greatly as he had been unable to spend a lot of time with her this past year, her being busy with OWLs and him well being busy with life in general. Things probably were not going to get much better for him as he was going to have OWLs the upcoming year.

"Regardless of if I came to visit you last year, it is still a surprise and means a lot to me that you came to see me." he said with a smile.

He reached into his pocket and fiddled around with what lay inside. He was looking for a good time to talk to her about it, however he was finding a hard time coming up with an idea for what to say and how to spin it off of conversation. When she spoke he slowly removed his hand from his pocket to speak to her.

"So, does Siobahn have a favorite game she likes to play out here?"

"I think she calls it 'hunt and kill'," he said with a smile. "She mainly runs around killing things and eating them. I just sit here thinking until she is done and comes back to me. As if she had heard her name, Siobahn came bounding up to the two and jumped into his lap. He rubbed her behind the ears absentmindedly as he looked out over the water.

"Her and I just sit here and look at the world as we will never 'really' know it." he said with a slightly sad look on his face. "If only life could be like this all of the time. Carefree with no strings attached." he said with a thoughtful expression. "That would be a great thing." he said his voice slightly froggy.

"Now, I see why you said I would need this... I definitely couldn't come in here without it."

Creylen smiled. "Yeh it does get cold out here, but its such beautiful weather. I usually have to be told to come in before I get frostbite." he said with a chuckle. He leaned closer to Alex and wrapped his arm around her. "Maybe this can keep you a bit warmer." he said looking at her in the eyes.

"Do you remember that night we flew around on the pitch?" he said with a soft smile. "That is one of the things I think about when I am out here. How happy and carefree we were in those days. When there was so little to worry about and so much to do to have fun. Where have those days gone?" he asked rubbing his hands up and down her arms trying to keep her warm.

"Hunt and kill.... probably one of the best games in the world.... at least in her world..." Alex said laughing as Siobahn came to join them in Crey's lap. Reaching her hand out tentatively, she held in front of the fox's nose and then petted her a few times, blushing when her fingers brushed his as he scratched her behind the years. Giving her a few more strokes, Alex pulled her hand back and rubbed them together. Yeah, it was cold, but Alex had no desire to leave the white world they were in.

Smiling back at him with her eyes as well as her lips, she nodded her head. His arm being around her felt so natural and did help with keeping a bit warmer. Feeling her cheeks heat up a bit once again, she glanced away and shifted slightly leaning into him a bit more, not quite leaning against him, but making it easier for his arm to be around her. "Yeah... this does work well..." Alex said glancing down at Siobahn.

"Of course I remember that night on the pitch... I wish would have been able to have done it again... but... I guess life happens." Alex said with a small sigh. He referred to it as happy and carefree, but Alex remembered quite a bit of it was anything but. Though, her favorite parts of that night were the ones with them playing around in the air. "Our game of air hide and seek turned tag or chase... definitely one of my fonder memories...." Alex said a smile gracing her lips once more. That night had been great over all. It was a fun night.

"You make it sound like we can't have that anymore... That fun can be had... we may be getting older and have other things to worry about like OWLs for you... and me deciding what NEWTs to take after I get my scores.... but nothing says we can't have that same sort of fun... We just have to make it happen. Good things like that take work sometimes... you just have to want it enough to make it happen. Besides... next year, you need to make sure you have something fun... don't do like I did and do class, quidditch, studying and TA work.. though for you prefect stuff instead... you'll burn out. I know I almost did..." Alex said trailing off with a shake of her head.

"I can help you do that, if you would like... we can... I don't know... make sure to have just a night of carefree fun each week... I'd rather not have another year without us hanging out much... I missed hanging out with you last year... seemed like we only saw each other with the team." Alex said thinking back over the past year. "And besides... a destresser will do you good for preparing for your OWLs."

"Of course I remember that night on the pitch... I wish would have been able to have done it again... but... I guess life happens."

Creylen sighed. He knew all too well how busy the both of them had gotten. Things just seemed to have taken over and kept them from seeing each other as much as they had wished. Maybe the next year would be different except for the fact that he was going to be studying for his OWLs and that would keep him remarkably busy. "Maybe we can have that opportunity again this year, but we will see. I suppose we will have to play it by ear." he said with a smile.

"You make it sound like we can't have that anymore... I know I almost did..."

Creylen listened intently as Alex spoke, knowing very well that what she was saying all made a lot of sense. He knew that he would have to add something to keep him distracted and having fun during his busy year, but wasnt quidditch fun. It used to be. Now, it was more of a hassle and a burden than it was fun. There was so much tension between teams and teammates that it almost seemed like the fun had been sapped from the game itself. He hoped that the new year would bring a reform to the game and the way it treated them. The team was building off a rather big win ending the year and maybe they could continue that tradition in the next year.

"Isn't quidditch supposed to be fun though? If you don't group it there then maybe something should be done about that." he said seriously. "I know it can be stressful at times for you, being captain and all, but it is just a game that we as players should enjoy. You make it seem like its a chore, however I dont know your side of it. I dont know of the hassles you deal with as a captain, nor the problems you might have with other captains. I only hope that you can find the enjoyment in it again." he said with a smile.

"I can help you do that, if you would like... we can... I don't know... make sure to have just a night of carefree fun each week... I'd rather not have another year without us hanging out much... I missed hanging out with you last year... seemed like we only saw each other with the team."

Creylen smiled. So she did care for him. He had always had his suspicions but they had never been truly affirmed until he heard what she had to say. He looked at her deeply as he reached into his pocket. He pulled out the small necklace. On it was a cross. It had been given to his mother by his father when they had started dating. She had given it to him to give to a girl that he found that he thought would be there forever. After having put up with him and his disappearances for as long as she had, he was certain that Alex would be around for the long haul. He let the chain lengthen in his hand and showed it to Alex.

"I want to give you this, and ask you if you will be my girlfriend. We have been close for a long time and I feel strongly that you and I could grow closer as boyfriend and girlfriend. I also feel that you might be the person I am closest to now and I want to become even closer. I offer you this necklace as a sign of our relationship. It was my mom's and she got it from my dad when they started dating. That is why I want you to have it." he said with a soft smile.

He watched her eyes and waited for her reaction. He only hoped the reaction would be the one he wanted to see.

"Yeah.. it's supposed to be fun... and it is fun.... well... most the time." Alex said shrugging. She had completely missed her freudian slip in grouping quidditch with things considered 'work'. Of course, she also had being Professor Wood's TA in there as well. That was far from work as well. She loved doing it. "I don't know... I guess this year was just tough. I love playing... I do. I just was stressed, I guess between captain stuff and OWLs." she continued, nodding her head. Next year would be different now that she had the hang of things.

Tilting her head as he reached in his pocket, Alex wondered what he was doing and sat up straighter. Perhaps he was getting cold and wanted to warm his hand? "You getting cold, Resperv?" Alex questioned, but then trailed off slightly as she saw him bring his hand back out of his pocket, holding something.

As he allowed what was in his hand appear, Alex raised an eyebrow slightly as she saw the cross and the chain lengthen. "That's beautiful, Crey..." Alex said reaching up and holding the cross still so she could see it.

She didn't hold it very long though, because he started to speak. In fact, he started to say words that she had been wanting to hear or have the courage to come out and say herself for a very long time now. Even hearing him speak the words, she wasn't quite sure if he was actually saying them or if perhaps she was just having one of those lovely dreams. She was in the snow after all and it was the middle of the summer. It had all the makings of a dream. But, her dreams never had Siobahn in them. So, this must be real.

"Crey... I...." Alex started and then paused as a blush creeped up her cheeks and she glanced at her hand and his hand holding the cross necklace as he explained it was his mother's. For once, she was at a loss for words. She wasn't sure what to say. She had wondered if he had feelings for her for so long and now that she knew for sure, she was tongue tied. That in itself confirmed that this was reality. She was much more eloquent in her dreams.

Leaning over, she gave his cheek a quick kiss. "Crey... of course, I will... I'm glad I held out hope while we both worked through things...I was beginning to wonder if there was only friendship between us... Now, I'm glad to know that there isn't just friendship with us... I want us to get closer too." Alex said giving him a genuine smile that fully reached her eyes. This seemed to be the perfect setting with the snow around them and the hot ssun outside for the start of their journey into that unknown world. A magical beginning to something magical.

"Are you sure you want me to have it? If it was your mom's when your dad and her started dating... it must be very special..." Alex said biting her lower lip. It was a beautiful necklace, but she couldn't help but make sure that he was sure he wanted to give it to her. The things soemthing like it implied brought gave her a warm feeling inside, but she still wanted to make sure he was sure.

"Crey... of course, I will... I'm glad I held out hope while we both worked through things...I was beginning to wonder if there was only friendship between us... Now, I'm glad to know that there isn't just friendship with us... I want us to get closer too."

When Creylen heard those words he offered a large smile. It had been a battle within himself to get up the courage to actually ask her and now here they were boyfriend and girlfriend. It was something rather amazing to him actually. He had been unsure of her feelings towards him for some time now even with all of the hints. He had even noticed that it seemed his friends knew something he didnt, always trying to push him and Alex together. He could say that it had been rather uncomfortable with them breathing down his and her necks, however being pushed closer to Alex had never been considered a bad thing in his book.

He looked over at her with his smile. "Well I had been wondering much the same thing as we had been close for sometime but there sometimes seemed to be something missing. I always wondered whether you were as interested in me as I was in you. It's going to be long, but enjoyable road I think." he added knowing that at the very least his friends at school would be very happy. He doubted to himself however that the sum of their happiness would not equal his own.

"Are you sure you want me to have it? If it was your mom's when your dad and her started dating... it must be very special...

"Of course," he said with a light chuckle. "I do not take these things lightly and I would not have offered it to you if I truly didnt want you to have it. I think that it now belongs to you," he said unclasping the necklace. "Now turn around so I can put it on you. I, of course, will not take no for an answer." he said adding a laugh afterwards.

After clasping the necklace he waited for her to turn back around. He leaned in and gave her a soft kiss on the cheek returning the one she had given him. "I hope that you are as happy as I." he said with a smile, having forgotten about the cold weather and falling snow. He was only focused on one thing and that was the girl in front of him. "So, how do you think everyone at school will take it, particularly Brenna and Shan, who seemed so dead set on getting us together." he added with a wide smile.

"A long, but enjoyable road sounds great to me..." Alex said with a small smile as a blush crept up her cheeks. Turning around with a grin as he said he wouldn't take no for an answer, Alex lifted her hair so it was easier for him to clasp the necklace around her neck.

Letting her hair down once he finished, she turned back around, touching the necklace around her neck as she did so. She was still having a hard time believing that it had actually happened and they admitted their feelings to each other. She almost felt as if she might wake up at any moment.

Returning hi smile as he leaned back from giving her a kiss on her cheek, she nodded her head. "Oh... I am.... very happy. I just keep thinking that I might wake up and this will al have just been a very nice dream." Alex said waving her hand at thier surroundings and towards him. "I know that sound silly..." she added and glanced down as her cheeks flushed once more. You would think that them being together might have stopped all the blushing she did around him, but that didn't happen.

Looking up as he asked about how their friends would take it, alex gave him a mischevious smile. One that only came out as her mind was wrapping around what she would find a fun idea. "Oh.... I don't thik we should tell Shanickle or Brennakins quite yet. I'd much rather play with their good little meddlesome minds... nothing mean, mind you... Just... we shouldn't tell them quite yet. Might be fun to see them keep trying."

"What I don't get though.... how was it so obvious to them.... and not us?" Alex tilting her head slightly. "I mean... I always suspected... but I figured that was just my hopes getting too high... I never knew for sure..."
