Casseus walked down to the field in his pale blue shorts and a white singlet. His black high-tops slipped on the dewy ground at first until he kept a steady pace of walking. Throwing his robe down he looked round the deserted darkned arena, studying the one place he never thought he would go. Why am I here again? He questioned, waiting for one of the obnoxious voices in his head to respond. Because you are insane, waiting for voices to talk back to you, and for some odd reason you want to start exercising again. That St Claire girl caused you to stop that routine you had. Yep, there it was... the voice of reason... or in other words.. the voice of father. Glancing around again he started quickly, dashing off on a lap around the field. Soon he was sprinting at a steady pace, not enough to wear him out, but quick enough to make everything spin past. |

Alex was flying around on the broom she borowed from Professor Wood since she was the Flying TA. She wanted to get in the air a bit before classes began again. Can't be rusty in front of the new first years. Zooming back and forth and doing a couple turns that she had been practicing, she grinned broadly. She absolutely loved the feeling of being in the air once again. Looking down, she caught a glimpse of a student running. Curious as to who would be out running at this time, she zoomed down closer to the guy. 'Casseus?' She thought gritting her teeth and flying even close. Once she was satisfied it was him, she flew up over his head and came for a landing in front of him. "How nice to see you, Casseus Lestrange." She said putting her hand on her hip and staring him down. He may be a Lestrange, and she may be doing something totally stupid, but she found him finally. He was going to hear her. |

He had just started his fifth lap when somebody landed in front of him, from a broom. Coming to an abupt stop slidding for a few inches, Casseus held back a groan and wiped his forehead with his shirt. "Good evening, Alexandria Davis. And what do I owe the pleasure?" *Casseus Lestrange said smoothly, making sure his hand was on his wand. |

'So, that is how this is to be...' She thought as she saw his hand grip what had to be his wand. Cassually, she moved her own hand into her robe pocket. If he had his ready, she had to be prepared. Promise or no promise, she didn't fully intend on using it. That wasn't who she was, but there was no way she would let him know that or let him get the better of her. "Pleasure?" She questioned with a raised eyebrow. "If you think me landing in front of you is for something pleasurable, you are grossly mistaken." |

Watching Alexandria reach into her own robes, Casseus sniggered inside. He had only put his hand on his own wand in case she was going to beat the crap out of him, or some other muggle thing like that. 'It is a well used term, I did not mean for it to be taken literally. And you are the Ravenclaw... I thought you are supposed to be smart?' He stated, not questioned, watching the girl with his own greying green eyes, un-focusing slightly without his glasses. |

"You thought right. I was simply stating the obvious." Alex said shaking her head, still keeping her hand on one of her wands and flipping 'George' up over her shoulder. Deciding to take the friendly approach, she asked one simple question. "Why?" She knew he had to know what it was she was referring to. It had to be quite obvious, especially from recent events. |

*Casseus Lestrange scanned the field again, spotting his robe. Quickly accio'ing the robe to him, Casseus put it on, shielding himself from the wind that had just picked up. 'You know that my cousin, Azraele Malfoy was recently killed, si? Az was my closest cousin, closer than brother and sister. Which we called each other. If you notice, everybody whom gets close to me either dies, or gets hurt. Juliana, you, Aurora, Gene and loads of others where injured during all of those attacks. Mum, dad, Mer, Az are all dead and I didnt want Genevieve to be added to that list.' Casseus said eventually, after watching as the clouds moved closer to the castle. |

Alex waited impatiently as Casseus called his robe to him and then took his time in answering her question. Beginning to idly tap her foot as she waited she raised an eyebrow and was about to ask, "Well? I'm waiting..." when he spoke up. Biting her tongue before she actually spoke that aloud, she listened to what he had to say. "So... you expect me to believe that you broke up with your wife. The one person in the world who is supposed to be your heart and soul, because you were protecting her? Protecting her from what the deatheaters? Newsflash, Casseus! She isn't protected. It didn't work! SHE WAS TAKEN AND BRAIN WASHED! Do you even realise that she thinks the deatheaters are the GOOD guys??!! No.. I suppose you wouldn't. You haven't been around. I can't say much myself about not being around... I... haven't been around much either... but that is for a completely different reason." Taking a breath, she continued, quietly. Suddenly, she didn't feel like ripping his head off quite as much. "Where have you been anyways? She's needed you... She would never admit that... but I can see she does. She needs you. Not me. You." |

Feeling the blood pump to his ears as Alexandria spoke he glowered. 'Who said that the Death Eaters arent the good guys?' Barely keeping his voice level he glared violently. 'You are just a hypocrite Alexandria. I have my reasons for doing things, just like you. I also have bloody good reasons, which I am NOT going into with you, for doing and acting how I do.' Shrugging the robe off again, Casseus bent down to make sure his shoes where still done. 'She doesnt need me, nobody needs me.' He breathed, before standing again, pushing past Alexandria and continueing his laps. |

Grumbling audibly when he pushed around her, she looked down at her own shoes. 'Darn it...' She thought when she realised she was wearing her uniform mary janes still. Looking at his retreating back, she frowned, then remembered she had 'George' over shoulder still. Hopping on it quickly, she kicked off the ground. There was no way he could get away that easily. Zooming to position herself in front of him, she frowned. "Don't walk away from me Casseus. You know, I actually thought you may have been a good guy. That the rumors weren't true. You had finally earned my trust. What in the name of Merlin would cause you to think that you should just up and leave her? I don't buy into the whole to protect her factor. She got hurt worse with you off Merlin only knows where. How can you think that deatheaters are the good guys when they would do what they did to all of those students.... to your wife. I thought you loved her. Or was that a lie?" |

*Casseus Lestrange glared at Alexandria coldly. 'You thought wrong then. And which rumors? That I am a junior Death Eater? That I really did let them into the school on New Years?' He held back the small ringing laughter of the absurdity of it all then narrowed his eyes again. 'Because they are my family. And how dare you question my love for Genevieve.' He added, snarling. |

"Family is not always the good guys. It is who they are that determines whether they are good or bad. It is the things they do that prove it." She said touching down once more and dismounting the broom. "Things like killing Azraele. They did that. Things like leaving students for dead. They did that too. They invaded the castle. They attacked my cousin... not once... not twice... but THREE TIMES. They have attacked VIVI!!! She will have nothing to do with anyone that does not believe her precious 'Sir' walks on water. Did you even see her? She looked awful. These are the things your family has done. If this is good, I would hate to see what you consider bad." "AND.... How dare I?! How dare you, Casseus. How dare you break the vows you made to love, honor, cherish, and protect her for the rest of your days. Family is not something you choose, you live with it... sometimes you get good ones... sometimes you don't, but... you live and you deal. Your wife is who you chose. Are you now deciding to become what you did not choose, but were born into and lose what you did choose of your own will?" Alex said glaring right back. She was trying her best not to tell him exactly what she thought of him. |

'You dont KNOW if they killed Azraele.' Casseus thundered, his voice raising above its usual smooth softer side. 'You dont KNOW if they REALLY did do all that. You only have the word of the school and its keepers. Only the word of Dumbledore.' He added, still thundering. 'And you dont WANT to know what I consider bad. I broke those vows so I would not have to hurt her any more. Only one last hurt, then it is all over.' He whispered the lat part, as he bowed his head, studing the ring on his right hand. 'The only thing I will lose is her, but I will gain so much more.' |
Posted by: Alexandria Davis Jan 31 2004, 01:32 AM |
"Fine... you are right... I don't know for sure they killed Azraele. I only know what I have heard about that." Alex admitted taking an involuntary step back as he raised his voice. "Though... there are things I do know. Things I have seen. Things my cousin has seen and has told me. I do know it was them.... unless you are trying to tell me there is some other group who likes to wear hoods and attack defenseless students?!" "I saw one in forest during the first attacks. I saw them crucio a boy. I saw the one that burnt the hospital wing. I was there. I was awake. I saw the slimy git. Well... I take that back. I saw the hood of the gits. They are too afraid to show us who they really are. They hide behind masks." Alex said quickly, a firghtened flash going across her eyes as the memories replayed themselves as she spoke. "You can not tell me that those were not deatheaters. Who else would do that?! Who else would kidnap students. Who else would torture them until close to death?" Alex then noticed him studying his ring and spoke quietly, "What is better than having love? What is so much better you hurt her? What more is so important you give up what I thought you felt was the most important thing in the world to you? Don't tell me it is to protect her... that didn't work... no one is safe. As much as you don't want to admit that it was them.... you have to admit that it is pretty coincidental she is found dead in the forest when their are attacks... It is awfully coincidental.... and... if they are your family as you say... and so was Azraele... if family isn't safe.. who is? No one." |

'MY UNCLE WOULDN'T KILL HIS DAUGHTER!' Casseus thundered, eyes flashing dangerously as he whiped out his wand. 'Say or imply it again Alex, and it will be the last thing you do.' He growled, lowering his voice. Hahaha the only time you ever called her Alex is with a death threat. His mind chortled. 'Those whom are loyal to ou- the cause are safer. Nobody is ever safe Alexandria, and nobody ever has been.' *Casseus Lestrange said smoothly. 'Now move, or I will move you.' |
Posted by: Alexandria Davis Jan 31 2004, 03:39 PM |
Alex blinked a few times, staring the wand now aimed at her. She could not believe she let her guard down. He wouldn't use it on her really, would he? He wouldn't. Though, from what she was seeing, Alex wasn't so sure. She obviously said the wrong thing. A common occurence for her recently. First, Sirius and now about his family. She really just needed to learn to keep her mouth shut. Keeping her eye on that wand, she wondered if she would be able to pull hers out in time were he to actually use it. Moving her hand back in her own pocket, she gripped her wand and gripped the broom in the other. 'Think, Alex... think...' "Casseus... I never... I never said that it was your uncle... I said dea..." She trailed off as she realised what it was he said. Mr. Malfoy... a deatheater? The implications were innumerable. Her eyes widened again as she noticed the accidental slip he made and tried to cover up. His cause. She definitely was not even mentioning she caught that. She may walk into things she shouldn't, but she wasn't that stupid. "Casseus... what is causing all this?" She said indicating his wand and also meaning the whole situation. "Why are you doing this?" Maybe if she kept him talking, he would calm down and possibly realise this was not the way. |

Closing his eyes in realization as he remembered that he had shouted his uncle wouldn't kill Az, he put his hands to his head, sinking to his knees, his wand dangling from his hand. 'I am done for.' He muttered. Rocking on the balls of his feet he looked up at Alex then darted off, sprinting again. |

"I am done for." Alex could not believe her ears. She knew she should not have heard what he said. That statement confirmed both what he said and that she should not have heard it. 'Oh god... Mr. Malfoy... and... and .... it... it can't be... Casseus can't believe... but... He just confirmed it.... even if he didn't mean to... Merlin...' Deciding she was either being completely stupid or trying to be a good friend, she took off after him once again on the broom. "Casseus... wait." She said as she hovered next to him as he ran. "Look... no one needs to know what I heard... just... think about it. Think hard about it. You know it is wrong. I know you have to know that deep down somewhere. The part of you that loves Vivi knows it is wrong." Alex said still wondering if she should just back off and leave things be or continue speaking her mind. As much as she loathed the deatheaters for the things they have done, she loves her best friend even more and wanted to try her best to figure out a happy medium or even understand. |

'And if you know what is good for you, you will leave me the hell alone, and forget everything I ever said.' Casseus snapped, raising his wand directing it straight at Alexandria's heart. Looking around wildy he smirked. 'Nobody to hear you scream, Alex.' 'What I think is wrong has nothing to do with this nor does it concern you. Bloody good-doing Hufflepuff wannabe.' *Casseus Lestrange added sneering. 'I have had up to here with people with no right telling me how to live my life. Some people are born to be the puppet, others the puppet master, and I do like being a puppet. Everything provided, no harm, no danger.' |
Posted by: Alexandria Davis Jan 31 2004, 06:26 PM |
"Nobody to hear me...." She said glancing around herself. "That may be true... there may not be anyone to hear me scream... but... there will be someone who will know if you do anything. You have no idea. They would know instantly." She said eyeing the wand, knowing she was really pushing her luck, but not really caring at the moment. Truth be told, she was frightened a bit. She had had wands pointed at her outside the dueling chamber, but never by someone she didn't know if she could hold her own with. She had no idea the things he may have learned. Part of her wanted to pull her own wand out so he knew she wouldn't be pushed around so easily, regardless of the consequences, but part of her felt sorry for him for feeling he needed to do this, any of it. Today that side won and she left her wand in her robes. Foolish? Maybe. It was what her heart was telling her should win out though and Alex tended to be lead with her heart. Removing her eyes from the wand, she looked back up at Casseus, not allowing the fear she was having to show. She would not give him the satisfaction. "Fine. You want to be a puppet your entire life? Go... run off with your puppeteer. Just remember you threw away the best thing that could have happened to you." "Life means nothing if you have no love in it. That is what you are embracing by embracing a life as a puppet. Meaninglessness." She said as she turned the broom towards where she was practicing earlier. Turning her head once, she shook it sadly. "I hope you realise what you are losing.... I hope you know what you are doing...." |

One of the worst things about his accident was he couldn't remember half of his wicked spells his mother had taught, but he had re-learnt at least some of them, but he wouldn't let on that. Nor would he let on that he didnt really want to hurt Alexandria. 'And what was that best thing?' Casseus questioned, his wand hand holding steady, not showing his nerves that where about to snap. 'And I had a life before... her. As a puppet, I had a life.' 'I do know what I have lost, and I do know what I have done.' Casseus snapped, starting to jog again, breezing past Alexandria. Hopefully he would never ever have to face her again, for who knew what he would do. Not even he knew what his temper would snap at next time. |
