Virtual Hogwarts > The Valentine's Masquerade Ball > People Watching

After leaving Juliana and Justin in each other's capable hands, Alex took to walking around the ball to see if she could find any of her other friends, or if she was truthful, possibly a glimpse of a certain one of those friends, not that she would admit that was who she was truly hoping to see.

Stopping in her tracks when she passed by the head table on her way to grab something a drink, she blinked as she saw a pirate and two rather scantily clad professors. Why did she suddenly think she didn't want to know what was in their food? She knew PAMM hadn't done anything to them... or had Livy maybe pulled something off? No, she would have told Alex about it. Same with Nick. Nope. Alex definitely didn't want to know. Shaking her head slightly with an amused grin, she continued on her path to get a drink and head back to the Rave table.

Grabbing a butterbeer from the table she had spied someone heading from with one, she spun on her heal and retraced her steps. Giving Livy and Mike a wave when she saw them, she walked over to them briefly and gave her best friend a hug and wished her a happy Valentine's day and then took her leave of the couple. She had no desire to be the proverbial third wheel, after all.

Slipping back to the Ravie table, she took a sip of her butterbeer, placing it on the table and then began fiddling with her dress again as she people watched. It was odd not being out there doing.. soemthing. This was the first ball since her first year that she hadn't been pranking at the very least. Though, when most of your team is away from school, anniversary or not, you don't risk one man shows. Humming softly along with the song, she wondered idly what Viv and Kyra were doing for the holiday.

Creylen had been rushing frantically to get ready for the ball. He hadnt even been able to get an adequate attire for the ball so he just threw on his muggle best: A blue turtleneck, a black suit jacket, and black suit pants. He wanted to get to the ball before it was over in hopes of actually getting to see a certain someone that would remain nameless. He only hoped that she would not be there with anyone else.

He was almost to the Great Hall when he realized he had forgotten his mask. He had to turn around and return to the dormitory to get that. It wasnt anything special. A black mask that matched the suit he had on. He quickly grabbed it and headed on his way to the Ball. He knew he had already missed a large portion of the ball and wanted to do everything he could to make that up to Alex.

Wait, why was he making it up to her. It wasnt like they were an item and there wasnt even a real plan to go together. They were friends of course, both too shy to ask one another out, or maybe in denial. There was no doubt in Creylen's mind that he wanted her to be his, but he didnt know how to ask, or what to say. He rushed into the Great Hall, his hair flowing languidly behind him as he looked around. The mask made it difficult to find the people he knew particularly the ones that he didnt know what they were wearing, which included Alex.

He saw a lonely figure at a table that was sipping a butterbeer who didnt seem to have anyone to talk to. As he looked more closely he realized that it was the one he had been looking for, hoping to see. He smiled and made his way over, his courage having gradually been built ever since the night they had flown together on the pitch. It was a rather budding relationship, some of their friends would say budding too slow, but budding nonetheless.

He approached the table and sat beside her, his back facing the same way as her face. "So, whats a beautiful girl like you doing in a place like this?" he said with a grin, allowing his hair to flow down his shoulders.

This was turning out to be an interesting ball for Shanian even though she had nothing really to compare to since it was her first one. She still could'nt figure out why Feu had voluteered to take her to the ball probably as a big brother favor. Speaking of big brothers she thought of how much she appreicate her three big quidditch brothers.

First there was Feu who was like the big brother she always wanted. He would teach her things and always make her laugh even when she was feeling down. He was also quite handsome and looked good in his quidditch uniform. Throughout the school year he had helped her in many ways and in return she had taught him how to dance at this ball but now he was with some other girl and Shanian was just talking to various people.

Then there was Kern the quiet brother. He was usually distant from the group in her opinion. She had fun playing in quidditch matches and it was sweet of to save her from a bludger during a game.

At long last there was the sweet and weird Crey. Now it was so cute how he and Alex like each other but were both to shy to admit it. She even tried to help give them a boast at christmas time and stuck a mistletoe over theirs heads. He did manage to kiss her on the cheek but Shanian knew she was going to pay for that one.

This is what Shanian was doing now after spending time with Ian looking around the dancefloor to see what was up with Alex and her blue haired brother. She finally spotted them and skipped up to the cute pair. Giving both of them her puppy dog eyes she said,"So hows my favorite couple?"

Looking up with her purple mask still in place as she saw someone approach, she held her breath for a second as he headed right for her. She would recognise that blue hair anywhere. Perhaps he didn't recognise her with her mask on? No, that was silly. One thing though, she did make complete note of... he didn't bring anyone over with him when he sat down. Maybe he came alone? She could hope, right?

As he sat down and gave her a grin and a line of all things, she tilted her head with an amused grin, her eyes twinkling. "I bet you say that to all the masked girls." Alex said letting go of the ties of her dress she had been fiddling with and turned towards him, still smiling. She didn't want to show her inward nervousness on the outside. Was he here alone or was he simply only coming to say hi and then return to his date?

"Having fun so far, Resperv?" Alex said purposely using her nickname for him to squash any possible doubt as to the identity of either of them. She then heard a young voice pipe up from out of no where. Was it really out of no where though? Alex hadn't really been paying much attention to her surroundings in the last few moments when he had sat down.

'Wait... Did she just say couple?' Alex thought blinking a couple times. It was official. As much as Alex might want the youngest player on their team's statement to be accurate, this ickle was definitely too perceptive for her own good. First the mistletoe incident and now this greeting?

Blushing profusely, Alex looked up at Shan and shook her head slightly. "Shanickle... we're uh.... we're not a couple... but I'm well. How are you? Enjoying your first ball?" she said flipping a stray feather from her mask that had dropped down a bit and was tickling the side of her face back up where it belonged.

Right after asking Alex and Crey were a couple she started to realize that maybe she just said the wrong thing. But just like all the other quidditch players she wanted her big brother and sister to get together since it was obvious that they had feelings for each other.

Now love was such a complicated subject to Shanian and she understood it very little. Sure there was her parents who seemed to be just in love of maybe even more in love then they were when first laying eyes on each other at hogwarts fifteen years ago. She thought maybe this was how her parents had started out shying away from each other when finally one day they finally had the guys to confess to each other how the other felt.

She thought it was so cute how they blushed whenever seeing each other and how they joked around during games and practices. Shanian wondered if they had even talked about what happened during the christmas gift giving but was thinking that was a big flat no since obviously they would be an item if they had talked about it.

Shanian was starting to think that she would never be in love for a long time and would just enjoy life and live it to its fullest. Sure she had a crush on Feu but deep in her heart it was never meant to be since he still was so hung up on Jasmine. At least he would always be her big brother and hang out with her which made her smile to herself.

There was always Ian but dang that boy confused her a lot and did'nt know what to think about when it came to him. She had fun with him during DADA class and at the halloween ball. Even stepping on her foot was a fun experience and they played games after that. Just before going over to Alex and Crey she had a lovely talk with him but somehow through the conversation started to feel nervous. She shrugged it off as nothing and after a dance with him {hope this happens soon} was on her way to visit with people.

"Shanickle... we're uh.... we're not a couple... but I'm well. How are you? Enjoying your first ball?" Snapping out of her thoughts for what seemed the millionth time that night Shanian looked at her cappy and said,"Why of course I am having a good time.

You see I taught Feu how to dance, talked to a few fellow ravenclaws and had a good laugh. The best part was spending time with Ian though since hes a boy confuses me and started to feel really nervous around him for some reason. Then he dance with me since he promised he would and then I decided to see how you and Crey were doing."

*Brenna Page set across the Great Hall as soon as she saw her big brother enter the room and approach Alex. She felt someone what guilty leaving Ellie all alone after she had dragged her to the dance but she couldn't take all of the blame. Jenna had scampered off as well. Probably going to go look for that Leachy fellow. Seeing 'the Shanickle' stop and address the couple she grinned in amusement. She needed a proper accomplice and 'the Shanickle' would fit the bill perfectly.

"Hullo Alex, Hi Crey" she said with a smile as she slipped into the vacant area next to 'the Shanickle.' "Are we having fun? Do you like my dress?" she asked twirling quickly around tripping on her heels. Blasted shoes, she should have worn her Ravenclaw slippers, fashion be damned. "Whoops..." she said as she righted herself and brushed a lose strand of hair out of her face.

Giggling slightly she sat down next to Alex. "Your dress is soooooo pretty Alex! I love the purple, don't you think she looks pretty Crey?" asked Brenna grinning from ear to ear. "and your hair is really cute like that, doesn't it look cute Crey?" Knowing that her point had been properly made she sat quietly for a few moments letting her comments sink in a bit. "So have you danced yet?" she asked starring pointedly at the two uppers in the group. "I saw Shanickle dancing already with Feu but I have yet to see either of you grace the floor."

"OOOO! Crey, you should dance with me! It would be fun! I wouldn't even step on your toes!"

Posted by: Creylen Turlough Feb 14 2005, 12:41 AM
Creylen had barely had a chance to hear what Alex was saying when 'Shanickle' graced them with her presence. He smiled at the first year, who was so rambunctious and always apparently trying to set him and Alex up. Of course, he was working on that on his own, but honestly why did everyone have to be so impatient. It wasn't like the world was going to end if Alex and Crey didnt get together and enjoy one anothers company.

"So hows my favorite couple?"

Creylen's eyes rolled as he heard the all too familiar question. He was about to respond to Shan when Alex did so for him. No, they werent a couple, but would Creylen mind if they were. Would he question the happiness he would feel. Of course he had feelings for Alex, but I mean he had feelings for Mei too. Why did things have to be so complicated on a recent 16 year old? Why was life shoving trials in his face now? He just wanted to be a carefree teenager, or did he?

He couldnt honestly say he wouldnt be happy without Alex by his side, through thick and thin, to be with him when he needed her, but what was the best way to go about talking to her about it. It just didnt seem like something you just bring up in conversation. 'So the weather's nice today, wanna be my girlfriend?' With Mei it kind of just happened, but it seemed like in this instance he was going to have to be proactive or he wasn't ever going to have her by his side.

Creylen listened intently as Shan takled about her experience at her first ball, and he reminisced to the little he remembered about his. It had been a great time when he and Feu talked all the time and he had few cares in the world. He hadnt dealt majorly with any worries that he had now, about school and life in general. Man, those days were nice.

His thoughts were interrupted by Brenna making her way towards them. He felt like he and Alex were getting ganged up on, and he realized he was right once Brenna started talking. His and Brenna's relationship as big brother and little sister had been strengthened when he had caught her trying to steal his badge from his room. He wasnt sure what had caused it, but he definitely had a new found respect for her.

Your dress is Soooooo pretty Alex! I love the purple, don't you think she looks pretty Crey?"

Creylen was about to respond when she continued:

and your hair is really cute like that, doesn't it look cute Crey?"

Again Creylen was opening his mouth to speak when Brenna found it necessary to continue her discussion. Maybe she would continue with her monologue all night:

"So have you danced yet?"

Creylen waited a bit before she, yet again, began speaking:

"OOOO! Crey, you should dance with me! It would be fun! I wouldn't even step on your toes!"

Creylen eyed her in shock. The only person he had thought about dancing with at this dance was Alex, but that was apparently out the window now. There was no way he could tell Brenna no. She was like a little sister to him, and big brothers did things to make their little sisters happy.

He eyed Brenna then Alex and broke down. "Sure Brenna, that sounds splendid." he said with a genuine smile. He stood up and gave one last longing glance at Alex before taking Brenna's hand and making his way to the dance floor. Maybe before the night was over he would be able to dance with Alex.

Posted by: Brenna Page Feb 14 2005, 01:15 AM
*Brenna Page was a bit crazy that was for sure but that didn't mean she wasn't observant. She saw exactly how her big brother acted towards Alex and the looks he was sending her as the headed for the dance floor. Come hell or high water she would made sure they danced together tonight. Maybe said big brother would actually do something...like*gasp* ask her out! She would probably faint if it actually happened. Brenna paused and grinned when one of those cute ickle fairies blew a bubble at her. Popping it with her finger she stepped out on to the dance floor.

"You ready?" she said with a grin taking the lead. She ignored the pointed stares from other people as she made her way across the floor. "Oops...sorry" she said when she somehow managed to crash into another couple who was dancing much to close for such an upbeat song. ‘Serves them right dancing like THAT in public,’ she thought to herself. “Is that even allowed?” she asked knowing that as a prefect Creylen would have the answer.

Huffing slightly she started to continue her dance, upset at being interrupted. "Crey, you should ask Alex to dance next; her mum was a ballerina so I am sure she can dance really well...oops!" Brenna looked down at the foot she had just stepped on. "Sorry...I really should be paying more attention huh?" she said with a grin. “Maybe next time I’ll wear my slippers and save us both some pain?”

A day ago, Danny would not be caught alive in the Valentine's Day Ball. But however, people and things change. Especially with the help of the Cheering Charm. A Cheering Charm performed wrong at that. Not two hours before the dance, while Danny was walking the halls of the school, some one hurled a Cheering Charm at the cute red head.

After being hit with the spell, Danny's mindset about the dance suddenly changed. Now, he couldn't find a single reason not to go. In fact, he was even looking forward to dancing. With anyone he saw. Running to his common room, Danny decided he had to find something to change into.

The boy couldn't find anything on such short notice so he wound up wearing his a white bed sheet with hole's cut in for his eyes over his head. By the time he put his glorious costume together, the carefree boy missed the beginning of the dance. Shrugging, the boy made his way to the dance.

When he finally made it to the dance, Danny had a huge smile on his face, although the sheet hid it. Looking at all the fun couples on the dance floor, Danny desired to be one of them. The Cheering Charm still in effect, Danny boogied his way over to different groups of people and joined in. Danny had no rhythm or dancing skills but he found that he didn't care and that he had a good time dancing with the strangers, even the ones who gave him weird stares or glares.

The Hufflepuff could be found boogieing is way around the dance floor. Eventually, he came across a couple. Wanting to get in on the fun, the boy turned to the girl and asked.

"Hello there, mind if I cut in? I'm sure you don't!"

Jumping in between the boy and the girl, Danny started breaking into a disco move. The song wasn't a disco one, but did the redhead care right now? No way! Now in an Irish Jig like dance, the boy tripped over his sheet and fell face first into the ground. Getting up, the sheet slipped off and Danny rubbed his nose.

"That hurt." With that said, Danny put the sheet back over his head grabbed the same girl's hands pulling her into a tango dance.

As Shanickle told them about how her first ball was going, Alex smiled and listened intently. Her first ball had also been a Valentine's one. She had gone to it with Kethro as friends only, of course. At that point that was all they were. At least in their minds. That had changed shortly after the ball though. That ball had also been the first time PAMM had pranked. She could hardly believe that was only four years ago. It seemed like another lifetime.

Smiling at Brenna when she approached, the smiles slowly faded as she heard just why it was she had come over. She had just decided that Shanickle and Brennakins were in cohorts together. Why else would she start prattling off those pointed questions at Crey. Did they think she needed help? She had since given up the hope that no one could tell her feelings for the blue haired boy. She didn't need help, she was simply willing to wait for him to be ready. That and she didn't know where he stood. Mei was back after all. The fact he was sitting here with her made her hopeful though, that perhaps he wanted to be with Alex as opposed to with her roommate. But at the same time, perhaps he only came over to let her know he was here with Mei.

Ah well. What will be, will be. By that time, Alex's ears perked up when she heard Brenna say that her and Crey should dance. Watching them as Crey took Brenna's hand and lead her to the dance floor, Alex couldn't help but wish it was her who had asked him to dance. Leaning back against the table, she took another sip of her butterbeer and almost spit it out from laughing as she saw Brenna start to lead Crey right into another couple. She wasn't sure who she felt more sorry for, the couple or Crey's foot that had just been stomped on. Maybe she should think about giving dance lessons to her not so ickle ickle and teach her the rule about letting the man lead. That in itself gave her a great idea. Quidditch required grace on brooms. Ballet was grace. She should give the team ballet lessons!

Her observing then lead to her watching the young Hufflepuff she had seen in the Entrance Hall before when she taught some would be pranksters not to prank those who didn't even have their wands yet cut in between Brenna and Crey. Was that.... disco he was doing?! Snickering to herself, she gave Shanickle a pat on the head, careful to avoid messing her hair up. "I'll be right back." she said and headed out to the amusing scene on the dance floor with a smile on her face.

"You seem to have lost your partner, Resperv...." Alex said raising an eyebrow in suggestion that she could replace his lost dance partner.

Shanian noticed that her fellow ickle Brennakins had came up to her, Alex and Crey and gave her a wicked grin as she approached them. Brenna asked if they liked her lovely dress and then almost tripped over her shoes which made her giggle just a little. She thought thank goodness she did'nt wear heels or else she herself would be tripping over her own feet.

She then asked Crey to dance which made her think that was rather cute. Shanian was so happy that she had indeed gotten to dance with Feu but wanted to know how everyone else was doing and found this awkward situation quite humorous. Hopefully she would never be put into a situation like this in later years.

Smiling at Brenna and Crey as they walked to the dancefloor she watches them for a few minutes. She laughed as Brenna crashed into the other couple but thought that other couple deserved it since they were dancing so close together. Hopefully Brenna was trying to get Crey to dance with Alex or else she would try as well.

Then she noticed that Danny had broke into the couples dance and grabbed Brenna by the hands and started to do the tango with her. She started to wish then and there that she was back out on the dancefloor with Feu or someone else like she was earlier.

Alex then deserted her and went over the the lonely Crey and hoped that this would be the moment where they would actually dance. Deciding to be annoying because that was her job she went over to the couple and said,"Hey it looks like you two can dance together now that you are both in need of dance partners."

She paused and then said," Well I hope you two have a good time dancing together and let Brenna and I know how things go."

Shanian then went over to where Brenna and Danny were and started to dance with them hoping that it was okay though she was now in need of a dance partner.

(( Won't leave the thread quite yet but love being the annoying ickle I am))

Creylen sighed as he was taken out onto the dance floor. Creylen was rather surprised when Brenna seemed to have a hard time dancing. He nearly fell down when she ran into a couple for what seemed like the tenth time. He was about to speak when she did so:

“Is that even allowed?”

Creylen grinned at her. "Of course they are. They can dance how they choose as long as the outfits stay on. At least unless the staff finds it inappropriate." he said with a small smile. He was just about to offer help to her in the matters of dancing when a young Hufflepuff that he recalled playing quidditch against, came up. He assumed his masquerade was that of a ghost, but it was a rather poorly designed costume if you asked him.

"Hello there, mind if I cut in? I'm sure you don't!"

Creylen sighed as he was left standing there, alone, in the middle of the dancers. He was seriously contemplating making his way out of the Great Hall and back to the common room when Alex walked up. He smiled shyly at her as she spoke.

"You seem to have lost your partner, Resperv...."

Creylen sighed. "Yeh it seems so." he said with a grimace. "From the looks of things, I have a rather tough time hanging onto the females in my life." he added with a soft frown. "Maybe its something to do with me." he added.

He wondered why she had made her way out into the group of people on the dance floor just to make the comment about him being without a partner. It was almost as if she was mocking him. Or maybe, just maybe, she wanted to dance with him. If that were the case, which it could very well be, then he should ask her before she left, or else he may regret. However it was difficult for him to speak to her about things like that. Its not like he was completely certain about her feelings for him, but he wouldnt be any closer to it without trying, now would he. He was about to ask her when Shan walked up, continuing with her impeccable timing.

"Hey it looks like you two can dance together now that you are both in need of dance partners."

Creylen blushed. It was unneccesary for her to bring up the fact that he had been left in the dust by his dancing partner. Then again, why must everyone try to set them up together, it was as if they didnt trust them to get together on their own. And frankly it was getting rather old. If it continued Creylen thought he might just drop the hammer on someone.

Well I hope you two have a good time dancing together and let Brenna and I know how things go."

Creylen was becoming rather tired of hearing references to him and Alex being together. IT was ultimately like they were taking all control of everything from him. He watched Shan walk off from them with a slight anger showing on his face. "Why?" he said rather forcefully when she couldnt hear him.

He turned to look at Alex and when he did, his slight anger faded. Her smile had a way of doing that and he couldnt help but wish she was in his arms on the dance floor with him. He took a deep breath and smiled at her. "So, umm, yeh, wouldyouliketodancewithmeAlex?" he said rather quickly and under his breath, believing that she may not have understood him. He just stared down at the ground and figured that she would think him an idiot now.

"I don't think it's anything to do with you..." Alex said shrugging slightly and giving him a small shy smile. "I'm still here, aren't I?" She added as she glanced around at the smiling couples around them. Yes, she had come out here cause she wanted to dance with Crey, but now she wasn't so sure it was a good idea. It seemed everyone expected them to have come to the ball together, which they didn't. And it seemed like they were now expected to dance. When did her desire to be something more to Crey than a friend become public knowledge and entertainment for her ickles, at that? As far as Alex knew she had never told anyone really of her feelings for the blue haired boy. Well, no one outside of her cousin and a couple of her girl best friends, but that was practically forced out of her.

"Hey it looks like you two can dance together now that you are both in need of dance partners."

'Blast...' Was her instant thought when she heard Shanickle approach and state the obvious. Again, yes, she came out there with the thought in mind of wanting to dance with him, but he seemed to be upset and Alex didn't think that statement right there helped matters.

Giving Shan a pointed look, with a raised eyebrow, Alex hoped she would take the slight hint and lay off. She didn't know if it worked, but next thing she knew Shan was trotting off towards Brenna and.... Danny. At least thats what she thought his name was.

Shaking her head slightly with a small smile, she turned back to Crey as she heard him question why. Shan was already where she couldn't hear the question, so maybe it was for Alex to answer? One thing was sure he seemed upset about the entire situation, if the look on his face was any indication. Though, it did seem to fade when he looked back to her.

"I don't think they mean any harm..." Alex started softly and placed her hand on his arm for a second before pulling it back to herself and playing with the strings of her dress once more. "They better not anyways... I think it's an ickle thing... then too, I'm the eldest in my family... so I had no one older to pick on... so I could be way off on this..." Alex said nervously, and then bit her lower lip when she realised she was babbling and was once again messing with the strings of her dress. That realization caused her to drop them from her hands, letting them fall naturally once more.

It was then she realised one more thing. Had he just asked her to dance? Yes, that was what she had wanted when she came out on to the dance floor when the ickle Huff took Brenna off his hands. Though, she's not supposed to be dancing with boys... no matter, that ickle didn't seem to be a problem. She had met him outside the pitch before. He was a good kid. Alex could trust her not so ickle ickle with him... for a short time. Though, her and Brennakins would be needing to have a chat later...

Turning back to him from the eyeing of her not so ickle ickle dancing with a boy, she smiled at Crey as he stared at the ground. His question was uttered quickly so she had a hard time understanding it, but she had gotten the message pretty loud and clear from what she did understand.

"Well... I uh... would love to do just that..." Alex started with a blush and placed her hand on his upper arm and leaned over closer to his ear so he could hear her when she lowered her voice. "... but... umm... I think there are too many eyes here... and too many expectations of other people... so... umm... we can go somewhere else instead... if you want... to talk... or dance if the music can be heard..." Trailing off, she leaned back and bit her lower lip again in nervousness, her cheeks beginning to match the Great Hall's decorations. She really did want to dance with him, but she really didn't want to with an audience.

*Brenna Page, not so ickle ickle was enjoying her dance with her big brother when *cough* out of no where she was interrupted by a ghost. Okay so it wasn’t a real ghost it was a boy in a sheet with eye holes. It wasn’t a superb costume but at least the boy had managed to come up with erm…something creative. Yes, creative was the right word. Anyways, Brenna was dancing (if you could call it dancing) with her brother when she was interrupted by a boy doing some rather strange and definitely wild moves. Normally should we have giggled and joined in but this was not a normal night. This was the Valentine’s Masquerade Ball and she was dancing with her big brother, she didn’t want to be interrupted.

Brenna at first had expected Creylen to step in when the ickle boy decided to dance. She wasn’t allowed to dance with or date or even come within 20 feet of a boy. Alex had made that quite clear and Crey had promised to torment any boy that she danced with. She didn’t wish that on anyone, not from those two. *shudder*

Brenna giggled when the boy tripped on his sheet and fell. Maybe he should have rethought his "creative" costume? Before she knew what happened she was pulled into a wild tango with the ickle red haired boy. The boy looked somewhat familiar then again she didn’t know many people outside of her own house. “Hey…” she said indignantly as she was drug away from her partner, she dug her heels in to the floor attempting to stop the boys motions. This of course did no good…1. Brenna was in heels…ick and 2. Brenna was in heels…double ick. Being dragged along by the boy Brenna managed to glance back at Crey and saw him and Alex huddled together. “Ooh…” she said wishing she could get closer to see what was going on. Alas, that was not going to happen, the ickle red haired boy was leading her, there was nothing she could do.

Oblivious to what was going on around him, Danny continued to lead the girl in a tango dance. He didn't even realize that another girl joined the two. Humming along to the song that was playing, Danny spun Brenna close to him. Then, the boy spun the girl away from him.

Danny would have held onto the girl's hand when he spun her, but suddenly, he was conscious of what he was doing. In surprise, the boy let go of the girl. Horror washed over him when he realized what he did. He danced.... He danced with people he didn't even know! Oh, how embarrassing.

Blushing redder than the Gryffindor scarlet, Danny threw the sheet off him and wondered where that girl he was just dancing with went. Eyes widening, the soon to be teen remembered he spun that girl off somewhere. Glancing in that direction, the boy's eyes widened even more when he saw the girl on the floor. First, I grab her and start dancing with her, and then, I make her fall....I am so dead.

Rushing towards the girl, the boy kneeled next to her. This was the first good look at he got at her. Danny knew her... well not really knew, but knew of her. She played Quidditch for Ravenclaw and was in his year. Her name began with a B...or a P....or a D....or a C... Deciding to go with his gut instinct, Danny said.

"Hey....B...... are you okay?" As he said that, Danny kind of covered his face incase the girl decided to slap him. He was no dummy.
