Virtual Hogwarts > The Quidditch Pitch > Not Everything turns out how you expect it to... |
Posted by: Creylen Turlough Jun 5 2004, 11:28 PM |
Creylen had just spent the last 3 hours flying on the pitch practicing hard for their upcoming game with Gryffindor and he was beat. Ever since Mon had become the new co-captain, practices had gotten longer and more strict. He was beginning to wonder whether she liked the domineering role. He was debating on what to work on first when he got back to the common room as he had tons of homework that needed to get done. He decided to rest in the peaceful air and calm his emotions lately as he took a seat up in one of the bleachers. Things had been going rather miserably for him lately with the departure of Mei and the immediate loss of interest in school and his grades had begun to suffer. "So much for becoming an Animagus." he whispered to himself as he stared at the stars. He closed his eyes reminiscing about all the good times he had spent at Hogwarts in an attempt to cheer himself up and leaned his head back against the bleacher behind him. |

Alex stepped out of the locker room, fairly shortly after their practice had ended, deciding to stay out on the pitch for a bit longer. Ordinarily, she would fly a bit longer just to relax a bit. Oddly enough, she had no desire to do that and so, just left her broom in her locker and headed back out with her latest prank book in her hand. She had long ago finished 1001 Pranks and Other Magical Mischeif; her first prank book, she had bought the end of her first year. She had now moved on to Magic for the Modern Mischeif-maker. Deciding that would be a great way to relax, she climbed up the stairs to the top of the Ravenclaw stands with her book in her hand in time to hear Crey murmur something about being an animagus. Strolling over to him, she leaned over slightly, tilting her head, "This seat taken, Resperv?" |

Creylen opened up his eyes to see Alex staring at him. "Actually no its not taken. Feel free to take a seat." he said with a faint smile. He sat back up noticing the book in her hand. "Magic for the Modern Mischief-Maker, eh?" he said with a smirk. "You causing mischief? Yeh, ok." he said idly looking at her. He kept his gaze on her for a moment too long and quickly turned his head. He didnt know what had caused that but he felt stupid for acting so nervy. "So what do you think about these practices?" he asked. "My muscles ache like nothing else." he said moving his Firebolt from beside him and placing it on the bleacher behind them. "Mon and Cait really need to slacken up just a bit, or we will all be dead before the match starts." he said with a soft chuckle, however, the usual light in his eye was noticeably absent. "So what keeps you around here now?" he asked, absentmindedly staring across the pitch at the empty bleachers on the other side. |

"What? Me cause mischeif? Of course not." Alex said glancing down at the book in her hand and shrugging nonchalantly. It wasn't as if she could say that of course she was planning on causing mischeif, that being the cause of mischeif and mayham for the professors and certain members of the student body gave her a sense of pleasure. So, instead of the whole truth, she went for a simple half truth. "It's just some light reading for pleasure." Sitting down after he moved his broom to be behind them, Alex set her book down on the bench in front of her and put her feet up next to it. Glancing sideways at him, she gave a small smile. For some reason, she may have been looking for her normal alone relaxing time, but was glad he happened to be here. "Yeah... the practices are grueling. I'm so sore I don't even want to look at George or George 2 for quite awhile. At least... I say that now." Alex said with a grin. "Tomorrow will be a different story." "So what keeps you around here now?" he said looking out at the empy bleachers across from them. "Oh... I come out here quite a bit. Ordinarily I'm up in the air though... but the thought of being on my broom still... no thanks. So... I figured the stands would be rather useful to read and relax in away from the noise of the common room... especially since I didn't want to walk all the way out to the lake. Too far..." Alex said looking in the direction he was, trying to see if he was just looking or looking at something. Not seeing anything, she turned back to him. "I just like to clear my head, I guess... what about you? Why'd you stick around?" *pulls out her chatbeater 9000 and thwacks the stupid lack of double 's' that keeps happening to her today* *proceeds to whack the invading 'i' into oblivion also* |

Creylen grinned. "I never thought I would not want to be on a broom either for a while, but Mon and Cait have instilled that feeling inside of me." he said in response to her statement about not wanting to see her brooms. "I also agree however that come tomorrow that statement will be different." he added. "Thats what comes with being quidditch players."
The question he really didnt have an answer to came out in the open. "Well I guess for numerous reasons." he said with in a soft whisper. His mind drifted to all the things he had been thinking about before. "School here seems to be losing its appeal to me nowadays." he said with a frown. "I mean I love the people and of course the Quidditch, but this wizarding stuff just seems to be too much for me to keep up with." he said softly. "Ive fallen too far behind in my classes to catch up now and its going to hurt my chances for things in the future." he added. "There is also the issue of, ummm, well nevermind I really dont think you wont to hear about my personal problems." he said bowing his head and staring at the wooden floor. |

"You're falling behind? What classes? Perhaps I can help... I mean... I do organise all of our tutors... so, if I can't help personally, I will know someone who can." Alex said turnng and sitting sideways on the seat to face him better. "Maybe you just need someone to help put the fun back in it..." she added trying to think of a way to help her friend. She may be Maven for prank reasons, but it was more than that. She was the one to always want to help out of the group. It was highly ironic with those two sides of herself. "Seriously... it's never too late. I mean... you don't have O.W.L.s for three years still. Those are what really matter. So, grades are fixable." Alex continued, nodding matter of factly. "What else is there...." Alex said quietly and touching his arm gently after he looked down at the floor. Realising what she was doing, she blushed slightly and pulled her hand back. "Crey... We're housemates, teammates, and friends. If something is bothering you... of course I care." "I make a good listener... at least that's what Vivi and Jul say... perhaps it will help?" Alex continued not sure if it would make a difference or not. |

"Well mainly its Astronomy. I cant find motivation in that boring material to get me motivated to do my work. It seems so unnecessary for wizarding." Creylen said with a frown. "I do not know what looking at the stars is supposed to tell me, nor do I care." he added. "As for the idea about a tutor, I am not particularly fond of having a tutor for that class. With the others I have managed to keep up my work, I just havent gotten grades that I wanted in them, particularly Potions. Professor Giordano has a strict grading system and it makes it rather difficult to accomplish that which I set for myself." he finished.
When he felt her hand touching his arm he flushed slightly as he felt a slight warmth invade him. "Yes I know you care, its just that well it kind of hurts to think about much less talk about." he said still looking at the floor. "Its about Mei." he said. He slowly lifted his head and looked at her in the eyes with a solitary tear trailing down his cheek. "Well its, that she left Hogwarts to return home. That wouldnt be so bad, had she informed me of it." he said, the brother of the first tear following it down his cheek. "She just up and left without a goodbye. Its not like her and it hurts." he finished. He slowly lowered his head again feeling stupid for allowing it to get the best of him and start the tears, but it did feel good to talk to someone about it. |
Posted by: Alexandria Davis Jun 6 2004, 10:08 PM |
"Gah... don't even remind me about Potions... for all I care both it and Herbology can just go away. Herbology more so... Potions I can see a use for... I'm just not the best at it unles it is a potion I find rather useful. Thankfully Kyra is good at it. Give me a good charm any day over a potion." Alex said shaking her head and smiling slightly. "For what it's worth... I did get an O last year in Astronomy... this year is a bit different as I haven't really put the work into my clases this term... but, if you want some help of just someone to sit with ya and work on that head hurting subject known as Astronomy, I'm here. It's not an easy subject... but perhaps you'll be more motivated if someone is going through the same homework horror with ya." Alex said shrugging. "About Mei?" Alex questioned when he said what it was about that was really bothering him. 'Hmm... come to think of it... I haven't seen her around the dorm...' Alex thought as that suddenly hit her and listened as he spoke. "She just up and left without a goodbye. Its not like her and it hurts." She suddenly knew exactly how Crey was feeling. Though, she at least had been given a five minute warning when Keth left. Biting her lip, Alex reached into her robe pocket and pulled out a small handkerchief her grandmama had recently sent her embroidered with her two favorite flowers, the kind that grew below her bedroom window at home; a yellow rose and a lavender one. Reaching over, she silently wiped the tear, not even realising really what she was doing. She didn't like that Crey was hurting and she really wished there was something she could do to help, but this kind of thing needs time to heal. "I'm sure she didn't intend to just leave with no word... There had to be a reason..." Alex said quietly after a moment. She really didn't know what to say that wouldn't sound placating. She knew things people had said to her to try to make her feel better used to just irritate her. Things to rationalise why people leave. "Did she send word after she got there?" |
Posted by: Creylen Turlough Jun 6 2004, 10:17 PM
Creylen looked up at the gentle touch of cotton reached his cheek. He wasnt sure why but the gesture made him feel reassured and almost happy. His tears slowly stopped and he looked at Alex as she spoke. "I am sure there is a reason she left. I mean she loved it here, or so I thought. So its doubtful she just left for no reason and I know that. Its just hard to believe that she would leave without giving word to me of it." he said softly.
"No, and really thats what bothers me the most. Its like she forgot about me and our relationship. I havent felt quite shunned like this in a long time." he said. "AHHHHH..." he yelled into the darkening sky as he sat there contemplating the things going through his mind. He turned his gaze back to the other side of the pitch with a stern gaze, trying to see something in the sky that just wasnt there. He bowed his head and mumbled. "Sorry, its just really tough. However I am sure that you dont want to hear about it so much." he added before refocusing on the ground. |
Posted by: Alexandria Davis Jun 6 2004, 10:51 PM |
Seeing that his tears had stopped, Alex smiled reassuringly and returned her handkerchief to her pocket. Mentally, she sent her grandmama thanks. Until now, she had only kept it in her pocket for sentimental reasons, but now she was very glad to have had it as it helped. "She didn't?" Alex said shaking her head and wondering what it was with people to leave and never communicate again. "That sucks... it really does. I'm sorry, Crey. Can I do anything to make you feel better...." she said trailing off as Crey screamed into the night. Waiting for him to finish, she raised an eyebrow and gave a lopsided smile. "Feel better? Screaming can help... I find sometimes throwing something works too." "Crey... I know it's tough. Believe me, I know. Why don't you let me decide what I want to hear about and what I don't though, okay?" Alex said feeling a bit perturbed he seemed to keep thinking that she would rather not hear about any of it, but not letting it show. It was quite the opposite really. If he was hurting from it, she found herself wanting to know about it, so she could help in some way. "I'm hear to listen, Resperv. Use me. It'll help." she said touching his arm softly again to let him know she really was here to listen and help if possible, but not blushing and removing it as quickly this time. Though, after a moment, she did pull her hand back, feeling her cheeks get a bit warm. She was suddenly very glad that it was getting darker. |

Creylen almost laughed as she said that. "Yeh I guess I could throw something, but really I have nothing to throw and screaming seems that much less violent." he said still staring at the ground.
Creylen could hear the hurt in her voice and found himself itching for an argument. "Well I am sorry that I offended you so." he said with a hint of sarcasm in his voice. He didnt know what made him act like that to someone he liked. Did he really like her? he asked himself as he stared at her eyes willing himself to not look away.
Creylen's mind began running circles. "I am not someone to use anyone regardless of the reason." he said with a slight hint of violence. When he felt her touch his arm he wanted to pull away but found that he couldnt and began to think God that it was turning dark as his face began to flush. He didnt know how she caused this reaction in him, but he refused to let her see it. When she removed her hand he turned his head away and looked out into the approaching darkness. "Alex, look I appreciate all you are trying to do for me, but I dont know how good of company I will be right now and I dont want to offend you. I am not asking you to go, but if you want to then I will not be offended if you leave." he said darkly refusing to turn back to her. |

"You know what I mean, Resperv. I know you wouldn't use someone in a bad way." Alex said shaking her head. She didn't like the fact that he seemed to be twisting her words, but at the same time, she was willing to give him some slack cause she knew how he had to be feeling. At least she thought she did. "Alex, look I appreciate all you are trying to do for me, but I dont know how good of company I will be right now and I dont want to offend you. I am not asking you to go, but if you want to then I will not be offended if you leave." Sitting and watching him for a moment, she wondered why he wouldn't look at her. For that matter, what was with the tone in his voice? Even more so, why was it bothering her so much? Taking a small breath, she leaned forward so she could see his face a little better. "Look... I'm not going anywhere unless you want me to. In fact, I probably wouldn't even leave then. I don't know why, but I feel no need to be somewhere other than right here. You can talk to me if you want or not. It's your choice." Alex picking up her book and then leaning back in her seat, opening it. Laying her purple book worm book mark on her lap, she resolutely pretended to read. |

Creylen didnt know what to think. Here he was acting mean to a person who wasnt trying to do anything but help him. He felt horrible for it and didnt even know why she bothered with him. She could be doing so many other better things, however she did say that she didnt feel a need to be anywhere other than there. He continued to look at the ground as she finished talking and thought to himself. He didnt know what had come over him but he had felt horrible ever since he had discovered Mei's dissappearance and had been slowly pushing everyone away, however he should have known better. His friends were there to help. Creylen turned his head to look at Alex as he heard noise beside him. He saw that she was putting on the facade of reading even though she was obviously just sitting there waiting for a reaction. "You know, you dont pretend to read very well." he said jokingly. However his somber mood returned quickly. "Really I dont know what to say. I have never really felt this badly and I dont know how to get over it. The only time I feel comfortable is up in the air, but as soon as I land its the same thing again. I cant say that being on the ground is comfortable at all, actually." he added. "I just have no idea what to do, and besides thats not all that has been nagging at me." he said softly turning his head back to the ground. "But I dont know if I should even talk about that." he added quickly. |
Posted by: Alexandria Davis Jun 12 2004, 04:08 PM |
"No, I don't.... at least not when I'm not really trying to pretend. In class on the other hand... I seem to do well in my pretending then..." Alex said with an innocent smile, glad to see he was at least showing some signs of being himself by joking about her lack of pretending skills. As he continued, however, her smile began to dissapear. She knew it would probably be some time before he actually did seem like the Resperv she had grown to adore. "Time. It's going to take time. Both to feel better and to feel more comfortable on the ground. Heck... it took me practically forever. It's only been the last few months I'd really felt like me again. Not quite sure what happened differently... other than maybe quidditch. I used to come out here almost nightly after Profesor Wood said I could borrow a broom. It cleared my head and I forgot about the rest of the world then. My broom is just down in the lockerroom..." Alex trailed off and then realised he said there was something else going on. "Something else is naggin at ya? I won't force ya to tell me what that something else is.... but I'm here... you can talk to me about anything. It won't leave this bench." |
Posted by: Creylen Turlough Jun 12 2004, 04:23 PM
Creylen turned to her with a smile. Her dedication to their friendship, even though young, was remarkable. "Thanks that means a lot, but I am not sure if you will ever leave that bench if I get started." he said with a smirk. He looked at her deeply and his cheeks flushed slightly as he turned away. He hoped she didnt see it and the only way for him to at least take his mind off of things was to do something else. His eyes traced over to his broom and he smiled. He stood up looking down at Alex. "Well you may stick to the bench, but me I need something a little more treacherous." he said as he quickly grabbed his broom and flew into the air. He called back to her, "You just going to sit there or are you going to chase me." he added a wink that she probably couldnt see in the darkness. |
Posted by: Alexandria Davis Jun 12 2004, 04:34 PM |
"Hey!" Alex said grinning as he flew in the air away from her. Slipping her book in her robe pocket, she ran down the seats of the stands diagonally towards the stands. "Talk about an unfair advantage being taken!" she called as she reached the door to the lockerroom before disapearing inside to retrieve her broom and stow her book. Peaking out a moment later, she searched the skies for Crey. Alex tapped her foot for a moment impatient with herself for not being able to see him immediately. Shrugging her shoulders, she mounted her broom and kicked off into the air heading out from under the edge of the lockerroom's roof. "Ohhh... Reeeesssspppeeerrrvvvv.. come out, come out wherever you are...." Alex said cheerfully, glad to be in the night sky again, searching once more now that she was airborne and would be able to see him better. He had challenged her to chase him, but she had to find him first. |

Creylen smiled as he saw Alex run off to get her broom. Not only was his broom faster, but he had a good lead on her when she ran off. He decided this would be a good time to hide and surprise her. He flew down and landed gently on the locker room roof hearing her stirring below. He heard her footsteps approaching below him so he kept quiet hiding in the shadows of the bleachers beside the lockerroom.
Creylen heard her call out and struggled to keep himself from laughing as he heard rustling below. He saw her shoot out of the locker room and into the air and he smiled. He wondered to himself if she would be able to see him on the roof but decided to play in the shadows a bit more and move closer to the area where she was flying around at. For a seeker she was pretty bad at spotting a person, but at least she could catch that snitch when needed. He smiled as he watched her in the air. It was almost like quidditch players were much more confident of themselves in the air. |
Posted by: Alexandria Davis Jun 12 2004, 04:55 PM |
Alex was muttering soemthing about Creylen being harder to spot then that pretty gold when her prankster instincts kicked in. Feeling like someone was watching her and following behind, she turned her broom slightly to the right so she could see behind where she just was in her peripheral vision. Giving a small smirk when she saw him trying to stay hidden in the shadows, Alex decided to give no indication that she saw him. Instead, she decided to fly around moving herself closer to him giving off the charade of still looking for him. Periodically, she called out his name, but other than that, she made no sound. She knew he had to have been enjoying the fact that she sipposedly hadn't seen him. She was a seeker after all, so it should have been easy for her to spot him but, she was a PAMM member as well and so was choosing to have some fun. Feeling like she had gained the opportune moment, she suddenly turned her broom towards where he was and stopped just short of barreling into him. "Why hello there, Resperv. Fancy meeting you lurking here in the shadows." Alex said with a grin. |
Posted by: Creylen Turlough Jun 12 2004, 05:08 PM
Creylen had felt pretty good about his hiding abilities as Alex had not yet seen him. However he did notice that she was floating closer and closer to his place of hiding and it was making it harder and harder to shield himself from her view. As it was he knew it was only a matter of time until she found him and he was right when he was looking her dead in the face.
Creylen laughed softly. "Well I find sometime that I enjoy the shadows much more than out in the open. It makes it easier to keep from being spotted." he said offering a wink wondering if maybe she had picked up on his innuendo. His hand brushed her arm as he mounted his broom. He smiled and before she could retort with something he kicked off again and zoomed out to the other side of the pitch. He wondered if she would bother following him or if she would just sit there idly. He really had no clue what he was doing, other than that which he did best, flirting. |
Posted by: Alexandria Davis Jun 12 2004, 06:21 PM |
Alex had opened her mouth about to inform him she had in fact saw him and was just trying to get closer and surprise him. Blushing at his wink and slight brush on her arm, she just stood there for a second, feeling goose bumps where his hand had just touched. Unfortunately, he took that opportunity and sped off on his broom with her standing there with her mouth open. Shaking her head at her own blushing, she was suddenly glad for the darkness of the night and for him zooming off. She didn't quite know how to explain why she kept finding herself flushed around him. Leaning close to her broom, she spun around and headed off in the direction he had, still not fully picking up on the innuendo of what he had said. Flying as fast as she could, she was learning once again how much faster Crey's shiny firebolt was then her 2001. That wasn't going to stop her though. Slower broom or not, she was a seeker and so knew how to speed herself up when necessary. Reaching out with her hand, she playfully swatted his foot when she was somewhat in range. "Hey... slow up a bit, Resperv." Alex said looking up at him from the air level she had taken to just below and behind him. |
Posted by: Creylen Turlough Jun 12 2004, 06:29 PM
Creylen smiled as he felt the wind in his air, a feeling he much enjoyed these days. He was cruising along truly enjoying himself when he felt a quick swat on his foot. He looked back and there was Alex right there behind him. He smaller stature and seeker abilities definitely improved her flying and made her much quicker. He was contemplating taking off by flattening himself out when he heard her voice.
He smiled at her sweetly and slowed down slightly to allow her to pull even with him. If his eyes werent playing tricks on him, her faced was slightly flushed. "Are you all right?" he asked. "You look a little flushed." he added. "Oh yeh, why did you want me to slow down." he asked coming to a halt floating up in the air above the pitch with her floating beside him. "Did you want to ask me something?" he inquired. |
Posted by: Alexandria Davis Jun 12 2004, 08:39 PM |
"Flushed? Me?... I... uh... must be the fast flying..." Alex said subconsciously brushing her hair behind her ear and blushing a bit more that he had caught her. Reaching in her pocket, she oulled out a hair tie and quickly braided her hair into a long plait down her back. She already knew she would regret not doing that before she took off flying, but better to not make it worse. "Ask ya something? No.. don't think so... just didn't want ya to get to far ahead and leave me behind in your dust. I can only keep up with you on that broom for so long. I was pulling out some of my seeker speed to catch ya." Alex said shrugging, grabbing on to her broom again since she no longer had something to keep her hands busy in her nervousness after she finished tying her hair back. She wasn't sure why, but it seemed different sitting up here alone in the dark on their brooms than down on the pitch. That and she had been able to hide her flush until now when he asked her about it. She knew the excuse she gave was lame, but what else could she say? It wasn't as if she liked him in that way, was it? He was her teammate, housemate, and friend, plain and simple. 'Then why are you so nervous...' she asked herself. Giving a small unoticible shake of her head, she leaned over and gave him a small poke in his side. "That and so I could do that..." she said grinning innocently and taking off in her broom, looping around the hoops. |
Posted by: Creylen Turlough Jun 12 2004, 08:46 PM
Creylen was a little skeptical about her answer but he decided not to push the issue. If it was anything other than flying she would have told him, or at least he thought she would have. Creylen watched as she quickly braided her hair down her back. He found himself staring at her hands as they worked on her hair, but made a not to stop when she was finishing in hopes of not being caught. He flushed slightly but she seemed to not notice as she started talking.
"Yeh these things are wonderful arent they." he said with a smile looking at his broom, not noticing Alex's slight fidgetyness. She seemed to be considerably lost in thought and Creylen found himself the same. Why were things so awkward between he and her. They were just good friends, housemates, and teammates. Nothing more in his mind, or was there. He shook his head of the cobwebs when she poked him in the side and started looping the hoops. He quickly took off after her, catching her in no time on his faster broom. When he got up close to her he reached out and tickled her side, before looping over himself and heading the other way. "Thats what you get for poking me." he called over his shoulder zooming off as fast as his broom would take him to the other end of the pitch. |

"Hey!" Alex squealed in surprise when Crey reached her and tickled her side. Thank goodness it was her side and not her neck. Instictively, she rolled to the side, to evade is attack. Righting herself a moment later, she spotted him already heading off in the other direction. Shaking her head she headed after him again. She was quite enjoying herself with the 'cat and mouse' game that had taken to playing. She just hoped perhaps, he was feeling better. He at least seemed like he was enjoying himself. Finally catching up with him, Alex zoomed up closer to him, but not too close as she wouldn't be able to make a quick escape. Reaching out, she stretched her hand out and went for tickling retaliation. Instead though, her other hand that was steadying her, slipped from the broom. "Ack!" she called out and quickly, grabbed the broom with the hand she was going to retaliate with, making her presence known. She didn't want to fall to the ground with out her broom just for tickle retaliation. Now, had that been the snitch she was afterm maybe. Somehow explaining to Madam P that she fell because she was out on her broom at night, reaching to tickle the guy she liked would not exactly fly with her. 'Wait... guy, I like? No... I didn't just think that...' |

Creylen heard a noise behind him and smiled. He knew she was back there after him. He wasnt entirely sure whether she liked him or not, but her constant flirting with him led him to believe that she liked him at least as much as he did. Wait....are we forgetting a particular female who was in your life not too long ago? his inner voice asked him. With that thought his smile faded and his broom came to a sudden stop. He leaned down nearly to a flat position and took his hands off the handle. He was lying prone on the broom and felt a sudden whoosh go by, which must have been Alex. With that his broom went into a tailspin falling to the ground however not very fast. He just laid there overcome with emotions wondering what had happened to him in the short time he had been out on the pitch. |
Posted by: Alexandria Davis Jun 13 2004, 05:42 PM |
Sitting up on her broom, she looked up in the direction Crey had just been, expecting to see him looking back amused at her. Instead, all she saw was empty dark sky. 'Drat... now where did he go?' she thought to herself as she looked around the pitch for him once more. No way she would let him sneak up on her again. Glancing down, she saw him below her, laying on his broom. 'Ah.... so there you are attack from below this time, eh?' She thought with a wry grin at having caught him before he was able to pull it off. 'Not this time, Res- wait... okay... you can stop heading toward the ground now...' "Okay, Crey... what's going on?" Alex said finaly speaking outloud once she fully realised he wasn't laying normal on his broom, just kind of there, with his hands dangling. Leaning forward on her broom, she flew until she was even with him and flying toward the ground at the same speed he was, which thankfully wasnt very fast. They seemed to just be floating towards the ground. Holding on to her own broom with one hand, she kept half an eye on the ground below her. Reaching over, she tapped him on the shoulder. "Er... Crey?" |
Posted by: Creylen Turlough Jun 13 2004, 05:52 PM
Creylen felt a soft tap on his shoulder which seemed to be coming from a rather distant source but in reality was right beside him. He opened his eyes and looked directly at Alex.
He heard her speak and it sounded like the echo of a thousand drums. He covered his ears with his hands feeling the wind rushing from below him. He sat up and abruptly came to a stop about 10 feet above the ground. He looked directly at her with a solemn face. "Wha....What happened?" he asked softly floating in the air. He then quickly remembered the thought that went through his head and a solitary tear flowed down his cheek. He wasnt sure if Alex could see it but he knew that things would be more awkward between him and her and if he decided to speak up about anything. He kept quiet and looked to her for any explanation. |

Alex pulled her broom to a stop as well after he did and then floated back up to be even with him again. She was very grateful he came back from wherever he had been, the ground was a bit too close for her comfort by then. Kind of ironic that thought by the person who demonstrates how to pull out of a fall each term for the firsties and gets much closer to the ground before pulling out of it. Alex watched him through concerned eyes as he seemed lost in thoughts. She also watched as a single tear fell. She moved to take out her handkercheif again for him, but somehow, she didn't think she should this time. "What happened?" Alex said mimicing his question. "I kind of hoped you might have been able to tell me that. I er... sort of slipped on my broom and then I looked up and you were gone." She added blushing slightly at her stumble from earlier, not saying she had been sneaking up on him to tickle him when she had slipped. "Then, I looked down while looking for ya, and saw ya floating to the ground. It didn't look like you were pulling back up.... so... I uh... got worried and came down to make sure you were all right. What happened? Why were ya just laying there? You're not hurt, are ya?" Alex said trying to get more information. She was rather worried for him. She just wanted him to feel better and she wasn't sure what she could do anymore. 'That's not all you want...' a small voice that sounded amazingly like her own spoke inside her head. 'Hush up... I just want to help.' she answered herself, slowly beginning to realise a few things, but not mentioning any of them. |

"Oh," Creylen mouthed. "Know I am not hurt." he said softly. "Well not physically," he added. "Its just that when we were around up there flying I had a feeling of happiness return to me that I hadnt felt in a while, it was...well it was refreshing." he said with a sigh. "The problem I have encountered, however, is Mei." he said. "Yes I know she is gone, and there is nothing I can do about that. However, I feel horrible for thinking of other people even though she isnt around anymore. I feel like I am cheating on her almost." he said lowering his head. "I really dont know what to do, because I would never cheat on her in anyway, however I cant help but feel that I am." he added. "So you see its been rather difficult for me to come to grips with the way I feel about someone else, when Mei is still there." he said softly. "As for what happened up there, I have a tendency to black out when stress gets the best of me, and with everything that has happened the past term, it has become difficult to avoid the slightest stressful situation from setting me off." he said softly. "So I suppose that might have been what happened." he added. |

Alex sat hovering on her broom and listened quietly as he spoke. She had so many thought roaming around her mind as he spoke. Cheating on Mei? How he feels for someone else? What did all that mean? Taking a breath, she floated a way a bit and then turned her broom, so she could look at him easier by facing him instead of hovering right next to him. Bringing her broom back close, she finally decided to speak. "Crey... I can't say for sure I know exactly what you are going through. Cause well, everyone is different... and how they deal with these things are different. The way I see it... you can do one of two things. Follow my bad example and hold on to something that is over... or... let go and try to move on. It is not a real life only a semblance of one to have your heart latched on to someone who left you. Yes, she will always be with you. Any one you ever love never truly leave you. They shape who you are and they stay with you. Right here..." Alex said reaching out and touching where is heart would be. Lingering her fingers there for a moment, she pulled them back and then sat back on her broom, wrapping her arms around her middle and holding on with her legs to the broom. "As for blacking out.... have you umm... have ya spoken to Madam P about that? Maybe she can help ya... I don't know... I heard she has things that calm the frazzled nerves of the students around exam time. Or just find a thought that destresses ya... I think it's been hard for a lot of us this term. Especially with all the practices. I don't want to think about what my grades will be... but I always just focused on being able to hang out with my friends. That always helped... I don't know... if it's an all the time thing.... Madam P I'm sure would know what to do. Blacking out on a broom can be dangerous, Resperv. I'm just glad you were floating slowly toward the ground instead of pummeling toward it..." she trailed off as she realised she was babbling. She hated when she did that, but she tended toward babbling if she was worried for someone and for that matter many other times as well when she wasn't sure what to say. "Er... sorry..." |

Creylen sighed and looked up at her when she touched his chest where his heart was. "I know what you mean Alex, its just hard to let go of her, she was the first that I truly knew I loved. I know I am young to think I love someone, but there was just that connection, kind of like the connection I have in my friendship with you." he said before he realized what he was saying. His eyes widened slightly looking for a reaction from her. He decided to keep going hoping that she had somehow missed his statement. "But I do need to let go. Its way too tough to hold on and miss so much I could experience otherwise." he said with a sigh. With that he floated up beside her and placed a soft kiss on her cheek. "Thank you for being here to talk to me. Its been rather hard to get time alone with my friends lately, as they are all wrapped up with other things. Its been good for me to talk to you." he said with a soft smile.
"No I havent actually gotten to talk to Madam Pomfrey about it. I havent experienced it over frequently, just when I get a bit stressed about things. So basically this is like the fourth time it has happened this term. I dont think that is too bad." he said with a slight smirk. "However if it happens again I will go talk to her about it." he said with a smile.
"Its ok." he said with a smile. "I rather like listening to someone else talk. It gives me time to not think about things and just listen." He added. "I particularly like listening to you, because you always have something interesting to say. At least to me." he added with a slight chuckle. "What do you think we make our way back up to the school. Its getting a bit late and I dont think it would be too safe for us to be out too late around here. Wouldnt want to lose the house any points, particularly when we are so close to the house cup." he added with a smile. |

Alex's eyes widened slightly as he spoke of a conncection he had with Mei, one he said he felt with herself. 'Ah... but he said in your freindship, so not the same kind of connection, really...' Alex thought to herself rationalising what she heard him say, but not saying a word about noticing what he said and not noticing that his eyes had mimiced her own. He then floated a bit up to be more even with her. Alex raised an eyebrow slightly, then blushed a deep shade very close to that of the quaffle when he leaned in and kissed her on the cheek. 'Wha- woah...' she thought not knowing what to think about him kisisng her on the cheek. She didn't even bother to cover up her red cheeks cause frankly, she hadn't even noticed that they had heated up. She wasn't sure what to say, or if she even should, so she just continued to listen to him as he continued speaking, wondering what exatly sparked him to kiss her cheek and why her cheek was now tingling where his lips had been. "Yeah... if it does, please do go to her." Alex said after he continued and she had a little bit of time to refind her voice that for some reason had decided to run away from her. "Glad to hear I don't bore ya then." Alex said grinning cheekily when he said that he was interested by things she said and liked to listen. "Yeah... probably a good idea to head in. It's beginning to get a bit chilly out here." Alex said beginning to descend toward the ground as much as she didn't really want to. As far as points, she had risked them many times, but not in something so blatantly obvious as being out of bounds... well, that's not entirely true either. Not being blatantly obvious as being on a broom in the middle of the pitch. 'There.. that's more accurate.' She thought with a small smile. "You know Crey... it's much more fun to fly out here at night with you then by myself." Alex said giving him a smile as she continued to descend. |

Creylen looked over at her. "You can borrow my cloak when we land." he said with a smile. "To protect you from the chill." he added. "Its the least I can do for you." he continued.
Creylen wasnt sure if that was a hint about anything or not, but he smiled widely when she said that. "Well Alex, I can honestly say that I enjoy flying around with you much more than being alone. I never really fly out here alone though, but im sure being in the air with you is far better than that could be." he added with a wink. "Also talking to you has helped me a lot, even if maybe it doesnt seem like it so much. Your listening and reasoning has aided in a lot of turmoil that I was experiencing and I thank you for it immensely. I look forward to a few more opportunities to do this." he added as they landed. He took off his cloak and offered to put it on Alex. "Here you go." he said. "It is a shame that the year is ending so soon, what with our friendship seemingly budding so well." he continued as he slipped it on her. When it was on his hand brushed hers and he flushed slightly, thankful once more for the cover of darkness. He picked up his broom and started walking with her back towards the locker rooms to grab the majority of his things. |
Posted by: Alexandria Davis Jun 15 2004, 11:13 PM |
"I'm glad I could help ya. I'm here whenever ya need me. If I'm not in the commonroom...er... and it's not late, I'm generally out here or the lake. Feel free to come and find me if you need to talk... or if you just want to listen to someone ramble." Alex said shaking her head at first, intending on saying 'no thanks' to his offer of the cloak. She was a big girl after all and it was her own fault she didn't have hers with her instead of it being locked in her locker. Though, when he laced it on her shoulders, she felt the warmth from it wash over her and that stopped the beginning of her decline of it. Blushing a bit when she felt his hand brush hers, she glanced up at him for some reason instead of trying to hide it, telling herself it was just from the change from chilled to warmth from the cloak. Spotting the flush to his cheeks, she turned away for a moment, thinking to herself, 'It's just from the flying...' Turning back, she nodded. "Yeah... that seems to be the way. Mum would say it's Murphy's law. Find a new friendship and then have to put it on hold. Though, I'm always an owl away.... and for that matter I'm staying with Livy for most the summer, so I think she has a fire. So, if ya want to talk during the summer, there are ways. If not... it's only three months. I'm sure we can pick right back up and make it grow still." "It's kind of funny.... we were in the same house for a year and I never even knew you... knew of ya, cause I knew just about everyone's name... but odd how you can find a... connection with someone you knew but didn't fully see at first." Alex said for some reason choosing to use the same reason he had before as they reached the entrance to the lockerroom. "Umm... sorry. I hope it didn't drag too bad..." Alex said glancing down at her feet and noticing that the cloak was a lot longer than her own, due to the six inch difference in their height. Okay, so maybe not a lot longer... about six inches longer. "Thanks for letting me borrow it. Mine's in my locker, I think." |

Creylen smiled. "Yeh I guess so," he said slightly dejected. "Things could change a lot over three months though. We could be entirely different people." he added. "However maybe I will have time to 'head' over sometime." he said with a wink. "It would give me a chance to talk to you and see how things were going. And yes there are always owls." he finished.
Creylen smiled. "Yeh its amazing how other aspects of your life can blind other things around you. I never really knew much of you until Quidditch and still even then didnt get to know you too well. At least that has seemingly changed for the better." he added with a soft smile. He walked with her into the locker room careful to observe his gentlemanly manners in opening doors.
Creylen smiled. "Ahh thats all right, it served its purpose, besides it can always be cleaned, however the weather outside cant always be the warmest." he said with a grin. "Would you like for me to wait for you to walk back to the castle with you?" he asked. He looked at her with a smile as his hand brush her arm. He felt warmth flow through him at the touch and smiled nervously at her looking into her eyes. "Oh if your cloak perhaps isnt in there you are welcome to wear mine back up to the school." he offered. |

It was odd. She found herself feeling dissapointed when he said they could be entirely different people in the three months everyone would be out and about for the summer. She hadn't really thought about that much. Did she really ever change that much over the summers? Well, yeah, last summer proved that. She definitely was a different person when the school year had restarted than she had had the end of her second year. That was another story though. 'Pesky deatheaters..' Alex thought with a small frown. She was determined not to have a repeat of last summer though. It was a learning expirience ad boy had she learned from it. Realising she retreated into her own thoughts again, she looked up as he asked her if she wanted him to wait for her. Smiling at him, she nodded her head slightly. Sure, she was a big girl and could make it to the castle on her own, but didn't mean she would want to be on her own. As his hand brushed her arm, she felt a chill go up her arm and through her back. Shivering slightly, she bit her lower lip nervously as he looked in her eyes and offered that she could still wear his cloak if she didn't have hers. Shaking her head slightly after a moment of being transfixed by his bright blue eyes, Alex bit her lower lip again. "I.. uh... I'm sure it's in there..." Alex answered finally after a moment and turned towards the lockers, breaking their eye contact and walked past the first row towards where hers was located. Reaching hers, she opened it for a moment and saw her deep purple cloak hanging on the inside hook. It was odd. Odd how that was the second time she thought about it being odd, but even more so, because she felt dissapointed that it was there. That in itself told her she should be glad it was. She shouldn't want to wear his cloak back up to the tower. He was trying to get over his girlfriend up and leaving. She shouldn't be feeling like this, but she liked it. Again, that was a sign to her it was a good thing she would be able to give him back his cloak. She was too confused right now as it was. Shaking her head again, she reached in and grabbed her cloak off the hook and slammed the locker shut, hoping the slam would knock the confusion from her. Coming around the corner, with her cloak and broom in hand, Alex forced a natural looking smile and held the cloak up. "Found it. Now you won't have to be cold..." she said as she reached him and leaned her broom against the wall. Shrugging out of his cloak, she handed it back to him. Once it was off her shoulders, she felt a bit of a chill run over her and found herself missing it. Telling herself it was just the cool night air, she slipped her own cloak on her shoulders and hooked the clasp, pulling her braid out from under it and quickly undoing it so her hair fell naturally. "Ready when you are." Alex said with another smile and looked back over at him, catching the blue eyes that had her transfixed what was only moments ago. |

Creylen smiled as Alex seemed slightly reluctant to continue wearing his cloak. "Well if it is not in there, then you are definitely more than welcome to mine. It wont be too cold for me out there." he said with a grin. He watched her walk away towards her locker and thought to himself. He thought about the times he had spent with her and never realized he had feelings for her. Well of course he wouldnt have noticed, Mei was there. But now Mei wasnt there anymore and he was single again. He knew that he should spend more time being single and himself, and he would have that opportunity for summer break, however how would they react to each other at the beginning of the new school year? He didnt have time to answer his own thought as Alex returned from finding her cloak. He realized that he was still holding his broom. He carefully placed it beside hers and casually said, "I heard a slam back there. Are you all right?" he asked as he took his cloak from her reluctantly. He grinned at her as he closed his cloak around his shoulders and watched her clasp hers. When she let her hair down he smiled. "I like your hair better down." he said with a grin, blushing slightly at his own statement.
Creylen smiled. "Well I guess we should head back up to the castle," he said with a smile. He leaned down and gave her a quick peck on the cheek. "Thanks again." he said with a grin. "I havent had an evening quite like that in a LONG time. It was rather refreshing." he smiled as he walked to the door with her and opened it stepping aside to allow her to go through first. "After you." |
Posted by: Alexandria Davis Jun 23 2004, 11:19 PM |
"I uh... yeah... I'm fine. I just put a bit too much oompf behind closing my locker..." Alex said shrugging slightly, then blushing as he continued and said he liked her hair better down. Making a mental note to leave it down around him more often, Alex gave him a small smile. "Thanks, Crey... Kind of hard to deal with while flying though..." she said, adding the last part with a lopsided smile as if that was the most obvious thing in the world. Blushing slightly as he gave her cheek a quick kiss for the second time that night, Alex smiled and nodded her head in agreement. "Yeah... it was refreshing... definitely a good change from the normal routine." Alex said thinking to herself she hadn't really had this much fun with someone outside of the mayham and mischief causing fun with PAMM or even with Quidditch. Then again, those were group activities. This was different. A good different. She hadn't had this much fun one on one with someone in quite awhile, especially with a male someone, and that was one of the things most on her mind at the moment. Keth was back. Shouldn't she be wanting to spend time with him? Of course, they both made it clear that it was over with them and they were only friends, but that didn't make her any less confused. Picking up her broom, she stepped through when he stood aside to hold the door open. "Thank you, good sir." She said teasingly and giving a small curtsy and smile as if these were olden times as opposed to the twenty first century. If he wasn't careful, a girl might get used to this and enjoy it. Pausing for a moment, she turned back towards the door to make sure he was coming. She figuired he was right behind her, but she tended to like to double check those things occasionally. "So, what are your plans for the school free, deatheater pseudo free, summer ahead?" Alex asked after a moment when they had begun to head in towards the school. |
Posted by: Creylen Turlough Jun 24 2004, 06:58 PM
Creylen flinched slightly as he heard her words. "A summer is never deatheater free, nor even close to it." he said with a worried look. He remembered back to when his father had gone missing for weeks. It had been one of the most stressful periods of Creylen's life and even led to his departure from Hogwarts. He smiled half heartedly, memories of those days still flooding his mind. He bent down to look at the grass to avoid having Alex see the solitary tear flowing down his cheek. When he had composed himself he stood back up. "Sorry about that," he said to her. "I thought I wsaw something on the ground." he lied. "We can continue our walk back to the school now if you'd like." he continued. As they walked back to the castle things were rather quiet and the evening was growing darker by the second. He whistled softly to no particular tune to break the silence. When he had become tired of whistling he stopped and turned his head towards Alex. "So what made you decide to tryout for the Quidditch team this year?" he asked with a smile trying to find something worthwhile to talk about. "I am happy that you made the team though. We probably wouldnt have gotten to know each other as well, if you hadnt." he said with a shy smile. He smiled at her and found his hand slowly reaching towards hers to hold. He wasnt sure what had come over him but he thought that he had discovered the answer to his ponderings on whether he liked her or not. |
Posted by: Alexandria Davis Jun 24 2004, 09:56 PM |
"Yeah... unfortunately, I know... that's what the pseudo part was for... I just...." Alex said trailing off as she saw him bend over towards the ground as if he was looking at something in the grass. When he stood back up, she raised an eyebrow slightly at his explanation. Did he think she would buy that about thinking he saw something? She may not have bought it, but she was willing to let it slide as she knew well that everyone had their things they didn't wish to talk about or wished to keep secret. Perhaps one day he would share it with her. For that matter, perhaps one day she may share with him things she herself kept hidden. Only time would tell. "Sounds good..." Alex said pretending she didn't think anything about his sudden stop to examine the ground. As she walked beside him, she wasn't quite sure what to say and so just lost herself in her thoughts as the sky around them darkened more. Glancing at him from the corner of her eye as they continued every so often, a small smile played on her lips. The night had been quite a roller coaster, which she just decided was a good thing; a very good thing. Though, still not sure why other than the nagging voice in the back of her head that kept practically hitting her with her own figurative club that there was more than simple friendship to what she thought of Creylen. "So what made you decide to tryout for the Quidditch team this year? I am happy that you made the team though. We probably wouldnt have gotten to know each other as well, if you hadnt." she heard him ask when the whistling that she heard had stopped. Figuring he had been the one that had been whistling, she put that out of her mind. "No... you're right, we probably wouldn't have... I mean... we never really did before quidditch. It seems Quiddy has more things about it than I thought that are great. I'm very glad I decided to try out... it's been a blast." Alex said putting a double meaning on her thinking there were more good things about Quidditch. "I just hope I get to play again next year... it's quickly moved up to be tied with one of my favorite activities." "As for trying out? Well... probably a few things..." Alex said shrugging. "Caity was the one to finally talk me into coming.. but between Juli, Drew, and Professor Wood talking about it and of course having Caity, Mon, and Ro in my dorm... they made it seem like an exciting and fun thing... Which of course, peaked my interest from the way they talked about it and, of course seeing the practice last year with Professor Wood's class...." 'then there is the fact I was kind of looking for someting to fill my time since I stupidly was avoiding my friends when the year started...' Alex added as an after thought in her mind, not liking to think about her stupidity then, but it was always there and she wasn't proud of that fact. Glancing down slightly for a moment, she closed her eyes, but then opened them again a bit as she noticed a slight movement of his hand. Blinking a couple times, her mind began to race. Not being sure if he was just moving it to move it and it happened to be in the direction of her or if he was actually moving it for a specific reason, she bit her lower lip slightly. She wasn't sure why, but the voice in the back of her head was telling her her answer. She found herself hoping for the latter. Though, she forced her hand to stay where it was instead of allowing it to do what it wanted. She wasn't sure what to do. She may be adept when it comes to pranks and mediating her friends, but when it comes to guys, she was pretty clueless. What if he was just moving his hand? She would look like a fool. Then too, at the same time, what if he wasn't just moving his hand? Biting her lip again slightly, she decided to maintain a happy medium and simply moved her hand slightly to give better access were he actually moving his hand towards her for a reason. Though, she didn't move it so much that were he just simply moving his to move it, she could have been doing the same thing. "Umm... what about you? Why'd you want to play?" Alex said turning his own question back to him. |
Posted by: Creylen Turlough Jun 24 2004, 10:24 PM
Creylen frowned at the thought of not having gotten the opportunity to meet and get to know Alex so much better. He smiled when she said it had been a blast, completely missing her hidden innuendo. "Yes Quiddy has been a blast this year. I cant believe we were able to win the Cup again. Its been an amazing ride these past two years, however next year is going to be daunting." he said his smile fading slightly. "I suppose if we have the same team as this past year then we should not have any real problem at all, however you never know what might happen at tryouts." Creylen said. "Some people just do not show any interest the next year," he continued, recalling the numerous people they had lost from his first year.
Creylen smiled thinking to himself that he was very happy that Cait, Mon, and Ro were all in her dorm and had piqued her interest in the sport. He turned his smile on her. "Those are all great reasons to get involved. Cait, Mon, and Ro were all very helpful to me in my first year and have been ever since. It has been amazing the friendships you can make through this sport and playing on the team. Not only are they amazing on the field, but they have been very helpful to me with school also. Being a year ahead has given them the opportunity to aid me through the two years I have been here." he said. "They were really right the first time I entered Hogwarts and they said that your house was like your home. I feel like I have a ton of siblings instead of housemates. Its amazing." Creylen finished maintaining the smile on his face.
Creylen smiled at a question that he knew the answer to for sure. "Well it actually started with my father at the age of 3. That was the first time that I had ever been on a broom as he took me out on the Nimbus 2001 that I use as a backup." he said mentioning the broom he had used in the Hufflepuff match. "Anyways for a couple of years he would take me out at least three times a day, and then when I was five he put me on the broom by myself." he continued. "See my father was a quidditch player for Ravenclaw when he was in school and he loved the sport. Would have gone pro had he not become an auror. That was his first choice." Creylen said delving into some of his background, but feeling a twinge in the pit of his stomach at the mention of his father. "As it was he put me on a broom and gradually taught me the game. I even played in leagues for younger kids when I was attending muggle school. Since I didnt have any friends there, there was no threat of revealing the world to the muggles." he continued. "Naturally, when I came to Hogwarts I made sure to get into tryouts for the team and sure enough I made it and have been a proud playing member since then." he said with a smile, noticing her eyes. "You have amazing eyes." he said absentmindedly not realizing that he was saying it out loud. He quickly covered his mouth and blushed a deep shade of red. "Err...umm yeh," he conceded knowing that the damage had been done. Before his comment his hand had been creeping its way slowly towards Alex's attempting to make contact, however that idea was forgotten when he made his blunder and the hand quickly went to his mouth. Besides, he was fearful that maybe it was a little forward and that was a conscious fear, however it at least felt right for the time being. He avoided eye contact for fear of a minor rejection from her so he kept his eyes trained straight. He was afraid of the look that might be on her face so kept his eyes forward with his mind racing. |

"You're father's a wizard?" Alex said not surprised, but at the same time she was just a bit. Though, just because this was the first she had heard him talk about his family. It made her realise how much she didn't know about him, but would like to now. "Is your mum also?" "That's amazing... to be on a broom that young... I'm just glad Mum has lightened up about me being here... I think because she knows I help Professor Wood that she was all right with me playing cause she figuires I'm confident enough on a broom if he asked me to help him.... then too, she doesn't know anything about the bludgers... just that I have to catch a shiny gold ball. I conveniently left the bludgers out of the explanation of the game... thank Merlin she's never seen one... and never will." Alex said with a small smile playing on her lips. "That would be amazing though... to have grown up flying. Looking back, I couldn't imagine doing that, but I also can't imagine not being able to now. It's invaded my very being." Alex continued, slowly thinking his hand movement must have been her imagination or something. "You have amazing eyes." he said then immediately blushed and covered his mouth as her own cheeks blushed deep scarlet. Biting her lip as he seemed to be trying to look anywhere, but at her, she had a small smile. He liked her eyes. That just seemed to hit her as she was standing there looking at him as much as he wasn't looking at her. She had thought in her own mind about his eyes, but she wouldn't have said it tohim outloud. Though, perhaps... he had already broken the proverbial ice by what seemed to be a slip. That in itself was another cause of the smile. Leaning over a bit, to purposely catch his eyes, she gave him a smile. "Thank you... and... you know.. your's aren't so bad either." she said trying to return the complement in her own way. |

"Actually, no. My mom is a muggle. She loves my father though and was so proud of me when I followed in his footsteps. It made both of them so proud." Creylen said with a smile. He loved his parent dearly and wanted to do everything in his power to make them as happy as possible. "As for being on a broom so much in my life, my father wanted me to play Quidditch as I grew up and knew that I would be better off to start young. He has taught me all the moves you see me use in the games." Creylen said with a smile thinking back to the days when his father would take him out to the field and teach him all the different moves in the air. It was relaxing times and paid off in the end. When Creylen had let loose his slip, he had nearly turned as red as a tomato and he tried whatever he could do to avoid Alex's eyes however he did notice that she was looking at him and he couldnt help but wonder what was going through her mind. He just knew that she was mad at him for being so forward and here he was not apologizing. He turned slightly to apologize but found her amazing eyes looking directly at him. He was about to let loose with another stupid quote but she spoke before he could.
Creylen's blush turned even deeper when she said that. "Well thanks." he managed to say before staring back at the ground. At least that was a good sign of sorts. He smiled at her and decided it would be a good time to finish what he had started earlier. He let his hand slowly find its way to hers and felt his fingers slowly interlock with hers. He turned to her and smiled. He was lost as to what to say so he just stared into her eyes, comparing them mentally to many of the beautiful stars he had stared at in the sky for so long. |

Alex smiled inwardly as she saw him blush when she returned his compliment. As she saw him look down and away, however, she began to wonder if she shouldn't have said that. Perhaps he didn't like knowing she's admired his eyes without his knowledge. Then too, he had mentioned hers first. One thing was for sure though. Alex had finally come to realise that she had more than friendly feelings towards the boy she was standing with. Of course, if she was honest with herself, she knew it already. She just wasn't admitting it to herself. As her mind was running a mile a minute, she felt his hand move against hers. 'Nah... you thought that once already tonight...' She thought to herself as her mind began to process that his hand was touching hers. In fact, by now it was not just touching hers, it was linking with hers. Smiling to herself again as she realised it wasn't just an accident, she glanced down for a moment and turned her hand slightly to make it easier for their fingers to interlock. Looking back up, she met his eyes as he raised his own. Giving him a small smile, she leaned ver and gave his cheek a quick kiss. She wasn't sure why she did that, but she felt like she should. He was afterall telling her something by taking her hand in his. She wanted to make sure he knew that she was on the same page as him, but was also content to wait until he was ready. She couldn't help but think they should definitely take things slowly. They were both having a confusing time right now. Leaning back from kissing his cheek, Alex met his eyes once more and gave his hand a small squeeze. "So..." she started, then trailed off. There was definitely quite a few things going on in her mind. None of which she really thought the time was good to say quite yet. She was happy and nervous all at the same time, knowing now that he liked her the same as she did him. "Maybe we should continue inside..... it's getting pretty dark..." Alex said finally after a moment as she realised how late it was getting. As much as she didn't want to, she knew they should head in. Things had been too quiet lately for her taste and she really didn't want to be outside in the dark for very long. |

When Creylen felt Alex's lips cross over his cheeks he felt a warmth fluttering somewhere inside of his heart. He could tell with the mannerisms Alex was showing that there was obviously more than friendship between the two. He smiled at her as his mind raced rapidly processing all of the things that had happened in the time that they had spent together. He contemplated the thoughts racing through his mind and needed to remind himself that he wasnt exactly sure where he stood at this moment in time nor what he really wanted. He knew he liked Alex a lot but he also knew that he needed to take things carefully and avoid becoming wrapped up in something he wasnt ready for.
Creylen turned his gaze to her. As much as he dreaded the thought of leaving this world and returning to the dorms, he knew she was right. "Yes, you are right. It probably is not too safe out here at this time and we wouldnt want to get caught out too late." he said with a smile but an obvious sign of dissappointment in his voice. He grinned at her and started heading towards the castle with his hand still in hers and walked up towards the castle. He knew this summer was going to be very interesting now and could only look forward to the next year. |
