Virtual Hogwarts > Ravenclaw Tower > A Quiddy Christmas

Alex strolled down from the dorms with a small package in her hand. Glancing at her watch, she figured it was a good time to go ahead and meet up with the others from the team that had wanted to participate in the secret santa. This was one of her favorite times of year and she couldn't wait to see the looks on everyone's faces when they would see who their santas were.

Placing the package under one of the trees in the commonroom that was near the fire, she dashed back up the stairs to her dorm room to retrieve another, larger package. With any luck, things would work out rather well and this one would have a use. Though, knowing what a good sport they were, she didn't think there would be a problem.

Setting it to the side of the couch out of sight, she nodded her approval of the sweets and drinks on the table procured from the kitchens. It looked all set. Just needed the butterbeer to arrive. She knew it would though. It always did have a way of making its way into their gatherings. Turning to the tree, she straightened an ornament just barely hanging from a branch so it wouldn't fall as she waited for her teammates and friends to arrive.

*Brenna Page crawled out from under her bed, sneezing as a paticularly large cloud of dust wafted past her nose. Grinning triumphantly she pulled out the presents she had hidden underneath. Opening her trunk she placed the other presents inside, leaving out a small present. Picking it up she brushed off her clothes and grabbed a blue ribbon off of her nightstand and put it in her hair. She probably should have gone for red and green ribbons but with the Quidditch game the following day she was more into showing house pride than her Christmas spirit.

Picking up her package she walked down the stairs and saw Alex standing by the tree, greeting her captain she plopped down one of the couches to await her other teammates. 'Presents!' her mind screamed with excitement. She loved Christmas espically tearing the paper and making a huge mess. It wasn't fun if you were "proper" and you carefully removed your wrapping paper, how dull. "OOOO! FOOD!" Brenna schreeched rather londy oblivious to the fact that it was very early in the morning and people were still sleeping. It was Christmas afterall you were supposed to be excited. She grabbed a cookie off of the table savoring it's sugary goodness.

((Meh...I edited my RP...it was stinky, presents will be going out tonight))

Caitlyn yawned as she sluggishly made her way down the staircase. She was not a morning person by far, and lately she wished she could just hide under the covers of her bed. OWLs were to start this week and she had spent too many hours than she cared to remember in preparation for them. Sighing, Cait finger combed her hair as she stepped into the common room to find a few of her friends and teammates already there.

Approaching the tree, Cait waved at the girls before dropping her present among the ones already there. She had no need for secrecy as Alex already knew she was her Secret Santa. Stepping away from the tree, Cait sat on one of the more comfortable couches. "Happy Christmas," she said with a smile.

"How was your guys' holiday," she inquired before asking the more important question.

"You guys ready for our match against the mighty Hufflepuffian Badgers?"

--
Alex, your gifts await you in the shop. However, for roleplaying purposes their under the tree and in pretty blue wrapping paper with snitches upon them.

Liviana bounced down to the Qudditch party, humming her "uncles" favorite carol, "God Rest you Merry Hipogryffs." Christmas had to be her favorite Holliday. Nothing bad was assosicated with Christmas time, unlike with other parts of the year. It was the time of year when everything seemed to be right for the moment, and maybe even possibly going her way. Last Christmas certainly went her way, though, she didn't need a repeat of that at the moment. She was content with that gift for a while.

Seeing the congergation allready around the tree, she smiled. "Alot nicer that the decortations will be at Grimmuald, I have to say. Alot more cheery. Though, once you have decapitated house elves and a wicked old hag stuck to your walls, its a bit hard to make the place look cheery," Livy said, brightly, her tone not reflecting the actual grusimness of the subject.

"Anyways, Merry Chirstmas! I hope my person doesn't mind me holding on to there gift a while, but I don't want it to be crushed in the free for all. " Smiling, Livy took a chocolate wand out of her pocket. Alex was incharge of food, and although, she knew Alex wouldn't try anything without her, if only for the sake that she knew Livy would have her revenge, she wasn't going to leave it up to chance. She had had Moody for a professor.

After opening gifts with Lela, Andie, and Ayva, Rory bounced over to where it looked like the Quidditch team was assembling. It had taken the redhead a second to notice and that was only because Lela had pointed it out. Sometimes it was weird, knowing she was on a team. And the best one at that.

"What'd you get me?" she chirped as she plunked herself down next to Brenna. "Good morning, loffie!" She was probably the only person capable of being that cheerful and chipper so early, but hey, that was Rory. If it meant she got more stuff to open, she was all for it.

((Erm, yeah clearly I was excited for Xmas and sent everything out already. But for RP purposes, we can pretend I haven't. LoL))

Posted by: Creylen Turlough Jan 19 2005, 12:28 AM

Creylen came down to the common room dressed in a ribbed, blue turtleneck that matched his hair and some black slacks that he had been lazing around in. He didnt frequently wear his muggle clothes around school however with it being break and all he had decided that he did not need to remain faithful to his cloak and school uniform. Besides this was so much more comfortable.

He came up behind Alex and gave her a soft tickle behind the ear. He was, of course, attracted to her however he had experienced a lot emotionally this past term and wondered if it would be fair to her to get into anything too serious. He smiled softly at her before taking a seat on the couch in front of the fire.

He had of course brought his gift down to be given to his secret recipient, but then again would he stay a secret if he just gave it to her? As it was he laid the gift down at the foot of the couch unawares as to how this was going to take place. He eyed the blue paper that he had magicked to be the same color as his shirt and had moving waves on it. If it wasnt one of the coolest wrapping designs he didnt know what was.

He chanced a cautious glance in Alex's direction before looking around at the others and spotting Cait, whom he hadnt seen in what seemed like an eon, but was more like an entire term. And to think that they were both prefects for their house.

Creylen smiled at her question and responded in the affirmative. "Arent we always ready to play quidditch?" he asked with a smile. "Let's just hope it goes better than the first match," he said, however he smiled at the others, knowing that he had had a great deal of fun even if they lost.

"So, how exactly are we going to take care of this whole deal tonight?" he asked to no one in particular.

Shanian woke up and all of a sudden remembered that it was her most favorite holiday which is christmas of course. She looked around trying to find her eagle slippers in which she had gotten a few weeks ago and finally found them under the bed. Going to her trunk she pulled out the outfit she decided to where for christmas.

Putting on a pair of blue jeans, a pretty red turtleneck sweater, earrings that were little bells she did her hair in two french braids she looked around for the presents. Taking them under her arms she went down the stairs and found the some of her fellow teamates assembled together. "Merry Christmas everyone and hopefully it is going to be a good one,"she said happily while putting her presents under the tree.

(ooc: sorry so lame I am tired from work)

Jumping when she heard Brenna come up behind her, she playfully clutched her chest. "Hey now, Brennakins... no killing your captain..." she said with a wink as the food was spotted by her friend. Good. At least one person had no problem with eating food Alex had been alone with. If she didn't know any better, she would swear someone would think she would have done something to it. Not that she would, of course. She hadn't pranked food since... second year.

"Happy Christmas, Cait!" Alex said returning the greeting as she heard a tune that she only knew one person to sing. Shaking her head at Livy as she commented about the 'quirks' of her home, Alex gave her friend a lopsided good natured grin. "I think you should make it this festive just to spite that... lovely... woman." Alex said trailing off slightly as she tried to think of something nice to call Mrs. Black. Alex knew all too well the opinion of that wonderful portrait. Knew way more than she cared to know of her misguided opinions of anyone with out the 'proper' lineage. Maybe a nice solid coat of paint...

Shaking that thought from her head, Alex linked her arm in Livy's and gave Rory a wave as she sat next to Brenna. "Happy Christmas, Rory!" Alex said with a grin and pulled her over to the second box she had brought out and pulled out a hat that strangely resembled one Mrs. Clause would wear. Grinning innocently, Alex placed it on Livy's head and backed away slightly.

"That's a good look for you." Alex said and jumped, scrunching her shoulders and tilting her head as she felt someone tickle her behind her ears. That had to be one of her most ticklish spots and whoever was responsible would pay. Turning around to exact her 'revenge' she bit her lip instead when she saw Crey there with a smile. Flushing slightly, she returned it as he went and sat on the couch, missing her opportunity... That just meant she would have to get him later.

"You guys ready for our match against the mighty Hufflepuffian Badgers?"

"You know it, Cait." Alex said with a grin. "Happy Christmas, Shan." Alex continued as she saw the youngest member of the team approach. Playfully ruffling her hair, Alex gave her a smile and then turned back to the others as she heard Crey question how they would do the exchange.

"Well... it's up to the individual santa if they reveal themselves or not... I can pass them out.. or when everyone's here, the presents will be under the tree by then. If you didn't put your name on it, it shouldn't reveal who you are unless it has some other clue to it..." Alex said eyeing the paper on the gift he brought out that matched his sweater. Blue... that always did seem to Alex to make his eyes look even better than they already did... Blushing as she realised she may have been staring a bit longer than she should have, she turned to glance back at Livy to see how she was reacting to the hat and gave her an innocent smile as she took a seat. She thought momentarily about sitting in the chair, but decided she might as well make use to the smpty spot next to Crey, poking him innocently in the side as she took her seat. She had no clue where they stood, but that didn't matter. She hadn't known that for a very long time. You could say she was almost used to it and was content to just let be what will be.

"Happy Christmas, Shan." Alex continued as she saw the youngest member of the team approach. Playfully ruffling her hair."

Shanian was wondering why people were always ruffling her hair and patted it down hoping that it did'nt look to bad and that it was still in two french braids. Noticing Creys cool wrapping paper she watched it for a few split seconds and then stared at out at the rest of the team.

Just like all christmas eves she had been to excited to sleep because christmas was her most favorite holiday. She thought it was cute how Crey and Alex looked and blushed at each other and all of a sudden got an idea. She had put some mistletoe in her pocket to play jokes on people and got it out of her pocket and went over to where Crey and Alex were standing.

Being short she had to reach up high and then said,"Hey Alex and Crey your under the mistletoe so you know what that means,"She said giggling.

Posted by: Aurora Braelin Jan 25 2005, 12:30 AM

Aurora walked in and noticed that a few people were already there. She looked around, seeing if Alex was around, and sure enough, there she was. "Hello, Quack," she said to her cousin. She smiled and gave her a swift hug before moving off towards the chair.

"Hey Alex and Crey your under the mistletoe so you know what that means,"

She had a smirk on her face within seconds. "Brilliant," she said and sat down on the chair, waiting for the show to begin. "And none of this pecking on the cheek either." Aurora put on an innocent look for Alex and diverted her eyes to.. "Oh, food!" she rasped.

Aurora reached into the inside pocket of her tunic and pulled out an envelope, ready to be opened. She smiled to herself and placed it...not under the tree...but let it sit on a branch of the tree. Aurora smiled and sat back down on her chair, eyeing Alex and Crey.

Caitlyn smiled as more and more of her teammates joined them around the tree. More importantly, they were all bearing gifts, and one just had to have her name on it. Snuggling into the couch, Caitlyn waited patiently for the rest of her teammates to join them and enjoyed listening to her friends rib Alex and Creylen on their budding relationship. She had never seen a relationship take so long to get started when it was so obvious that they should hurry up and be together. Ahh, the joys of falling in love.

Cait's smile dimmed slightly as she thought of her own sad love life. It had been months since she had heard from Albie, and even longer since they had been together. Cait knew there was little to be done about the situation...she just wished they couldn't have stayed in touch upon his leaving Hogwarts. Maybe she could send a care package for him with Monica. Glancing around the growing group of Quidditch obsessed Ravenettes, Caitlyn noticed her best friend had yet to join them. She probably had had the good sense to stay snuggled under her bed for an extra few minutes of precious sleep. Minutes that could mean a great deal during OWLS.

Shuddering as the exams crossed her mind, Caitlyn scolded herself instantly. She was here to have a good time...she could worry about those pesky-change-your-life-exams laters. With a half-hearted smile, Cait tuned back in to what her friends were gabbing about to find Alex and Crey standing under the mistletoe. Giggling slightly as their friends made the lovebirds aware of the floating plant, which had conveniently and underhandingly appeared out of nowhere. Smiling more broadly, Cait watched as the non-couple's faces were turning an interesting shade of red. Settling in deeper into her seat, Caitlyn decided to enjoy the show, which was looking to be worth the pains of getting up early.

*is sleepy and couldn't sleep so I thought I'd rp...but half way thru all I wanted to sleep...*

Posted by: Creylen Turlough Jan 25 2005, 02:07 PM

Creylen smiled when Alex sat down beside him. Things had been awkward between him and her for quite some time, however things seemed to be heading in a more definitive direction now. He jumped slightly when she poked him in the side and turned to smile at her. He was about to speak to her when his ickle little 'sister' came up to them.

"Hey Alex and Crey your under the mistletoe so you know what that means."

Creylen looked up and nearly blushed himself the color of a quaffle. Sure he liked kissing Alex, but in front of all of these people. Even if they were his closest friends and the people he spent ages with. That didnt mean that they should bear witness to a treasured event such as this one. He stole a shy glance at Alex to gauge her reaction to Shan's mischieviousness.

It seemed as if EVERYONE was watching them now. Creylen's eyes flittered to the wrapping paper on his package, trying to determine just what he should do. Maybe it was all in the Christmas spirit to follow traditions, but when it came to public displays of affection he was slightly embarassed, and that is saying a lot considering his reputation as a flirt.

Maybe it was the Christmas mood or the snow falling outside or maybe even those blasted nargles in the mistletoe, but he couldnt think of anything he wanted more than to hold Alex in his arms and kiss her deeply. Show her how he truly felt. However the peering eyes and the endless gazes prevented him from doing just that, so he idly watched the waves on his present, trying to figure out his mind, and why people were so curious.

Aurora looked at Shanian, the one who mentioned that Alex and Crey were under the mistletoe. As Alex and Crey looked like they were not going to follow tradition (!), they should be forced to in the end. Aurora smirked in the girls direction.

"I don't know, Shanian," Aurora said and then looked at the mistletoe over Alex and Creylen. "I think that if they do not follow Tradition
, they should be forced to. I think we should hex them if they don't comply and be completely satisfied that we, as Quidditch members who uphold the Christmas Cheer spirit, enforced the Mistletoe tradition."

Aurora looked at Alex and smirked her little mouth off, sure that she was going to feel her wrath by the end of the night. "So come on, you two. Tradition is speaking to you."
