Posted by: Adeline Zabini Aug 30 2009, 12:48 AM

Log-in name: Adeline Zabini
Character’s name: Adeline Zabini
Bloodtype (half, pure, Muggle-born):? pure-blood
Which 5 descriptive words best describe your character's personality? (Their personality, NOT looks.)
Elitist, Intelligent, Confident, Observant, Astute

Section I: Short Answer
Please include a brief explanation with each answer.

1. If your character could know any spell or potion instantly, which one would you pick? Please explain why.
Felix Felicis - A Potion to have things go her way? What else would she want to learn?

2. Which adult witch/wizard/muggle does your character most look up to? Please explain why.
Her mother, Daphne Greengrass-Zabini. While she looks up to her father and his ideals quite a bit, she looks more up to her mother as a witch who is able to hold her own and not act simply as a shadow to her husband.

3. What are some qualities your character looks for in a friend? Please explain why.
While she would prefer to have a true friend, she's under the impression that everyone has their own agendas to fullfill. She would want a friend who would put her interests above their own... or at least has the same agenda as her and is smart enough to stay out of her way.

4. What would your character stand up and fight for? Please explain why.
Herself. It's a harsh world and you have to look out for number one.

5. If your character had a choice, would he or she rather be kind or right? Please explain why.
Right. There's not much good in being kind when you're wrong. Kindness doesn't always last, but if you're right, you're right forever.

6. What is your character's most important personality trait? Please explain why.
She is rather confident in herself and her abilities. She knows she can do no wrong and if she isn't going to do it perfectly, she won't bother to do things at all. She would rathe fail a class then get less than an O, for instance.

7. The Mirror of Erised shows a person the deepest desire of their heart. The young orphan Harry Potter saw himself with his parents. What would your character see? Please explain why.
She would see herself being honoured within the wizarding community and therfore making a name for herself beyond family.

8. What does your character imagine his or her life will be like 5 years after graduating Hogwarts?
She will, of course, be a success at whatever it is she is doing. While she doesn't know what she wants to be yet, she knows she will be perfect at it, whatever it is.

Section II: In Depth
Please make your answers at least 50 words but no more than 250.

1. Roleplay your character breaking a Hogwarts rule. Be sure to explain in your roleplay their reasons for doing it.
"Look, kid. Everyone has done it." Adeline sighed in exasperation. "If you want to hang out with us, you have to sneak into the restricted section and retrieve this book," she continued and shoved the paper in the first year's hand. Really, she had no intention of allowing him to be her friend, but good help wasn't easy to find and so she'd say anything to keep his hops alive.

Sending a sideways glance to her friend, Adeline turned the boy towards the door. "Go on, now. It won't take you long. We'll be right behind you watching out." Yeah right. They'd be right behind him all right. Right behind him until they exited the commonroom, that is.

Following him out, she motioned for him to continue on under the premise she was going to trail behind. Rolling her eyes as he turned a corridor, Adeline leaned against the frame. "Gullibility is a beautiful trait in one's helpers," Adeline said with a slight grin.

2. Your character enters your house common room and finds a large group of older students laughing loudly. When you get closer to hear what's going on, you realize they're reading from the diary of your worst enemy. That person is not in the room. Roleplay your character's reaction and explain the reasons behind it.
Humming to herself, Adeline entered the commonroom and noticed a group of students giggling. Raising an eyebrow in idle curiosity, she turned towards them to see what was going on. Pausing as she reached them, she grinned as she recognized the book she had seen that idiot of a dormmate she was force to be around always carried. Too bad she was a housemate and therefore had to feign that she liked her.

"May I?" Adeline inquired and reached for the book so she could get a better look. Snickering to herself, Adeline thanked them for the look and began to think it was going to be a great day. Especially once she used the information she just received to her advantage. Why not trade some civility for the location of her dormmate's diary?

3. You character is alone somewhere in the Castle and doing something that he or she considers vitally important. A house elf interrupts and offers to help in any way he can. Role-play your answer to the house elf. Be sure to include where you are, what you're doing, and why you ask for what you ask.
Strolling up the steps to the owlery, Adeline drew her scarf around her neck and pulled her cloak tighter against the cold. Why she decided to send a letter to her brother in the cold was beyond her at that moment. It had seemed of great importance to warn him her room better be exactly how she left it back when she started to write. However, now, she was much preferring the idea of just harming him greatly if a single thing was out of place when she came home for holiday.

Pausing as a house elf appeared out of no where, she sighed audibly. "I'm busy. Stand aside," Adeline stated, irritated. The house elf wouldn't move though. "Well, what do you want then?" she questioned impatiently and then listened to the respons just as impatiently, tapping her foot.

"Fine. You want something to do?" Jump off the tower, perhaps? "This letter needs sent to my brother. Take it up the rest of the way for me and then bring me something hot to drink in my dorm. How's that?" Handing the letter to the house elf, Adeline turned and headed back to her dorm to await the warm drink.

Section IV: Miscellaneous

Which house do you think suits your character best? Why do you think it fits them best? (If you have no house preference, simply type N/A)
N/A

Disclaimer: You may or may not be sorted into the house that you prefer. We may be inclined, upon reading your application, to disagree with you. Rest assured that the Sorting Hat is indeed wise, and will sort you into the house where you belong, and not necessarily into the house that you want.

QUOTE (Adeline Zabini @ Sep 1 2009, 06:10 PM) *
It was times like now that Adeline really wished they went by first name and not last name. She was practically bouncing on the balls of her heels as she rocked forward and backwards slightly. Not that she would sully her name by actually bouncing, however. She was merely excited and nervous... at the same time. All she needed was to write home and tell her parents she was in Gryffindor.... or worse... Hufflepuff. Perish the thought!

Frowning slightly as the students around her slowly got sorted, she spotted the boy she rode the train with heading up to be sorted. Hopefully, he'd go where his brother was sorted. It'd be nice to know someone in her house already, after all... and he did seem a decent fellow. <<insert thoughts on where he's sorted>>

Finally getting bored with watching the others get sorted, she took to looking around the Great Hall as surrepticiously as she could instead. More specifically the table she hoped to be sitting at by the end of the evening. Even more specific, the other first years already sitting there that she'd hopefully be sp-

"Zabini, Adeline!"

Gulp.

Raising her chin ever so slightly, she pushed through the kid in front of her when he didn't move at her quiet 'pardon me'. Sitting down on the stool, Adeline took a deep breath and waited for the hat to determine her fate. Hopefully with age, it didn't lose the wisdom to put her on her way to following in her mother and father's footsteps like her cousin. A glance at Scorpius' face and she lifted her chin once more. While they weren't close, she didn't want to cause any disappointment of any expectations that he may have of her being sorted properly.

She chose Felix Felicis, to be able to manipulate events in her favor. Adeline admires power and strength in others, but seems afraid to connect with others in friendship because she believes they'll all be just as manipulative as she is. She has a healthy dose of self-preservation. She doesn't value kindness because she believes it doesn't last and is determined and ambitious.

Make that very manipulative. And cunning.

(The sorter would like to point out that she feels like she is repeating the Slytherin list of traits verbatim from the voting instructions... tongue.gif )

In case you hadn't guessed yet... Slytherin

She's confident, manipulative, unwilling to trust, and kind of mean. Making that poor kid go into the restrictive section to be her friend with no intention of going through with it? Though I kind of see a slight drive, the way she describes herself as intelligent, she rather fail then get an O (Though her confidence takes it to the next level) and she wants to be honoured and successful which are kind of Ravenclaw traits they are totally twisted by the fact that she is a bit mean spirited, she is manipulative, and rather stand up for herself than others. Plus she was kind of mean to the house elf... I'm going with Slytherin

I think she’s definitely got the personality to fit in well in the house of her parents. Her main priority is herself (HE WAS NUMBER ONE. Spongebob reference? TOO LATE TO BE DOING THIS? XD). She’s got a bit of an ego and swagger and she thirsts to maintain that confidence by accomplishing her goals. She wants to be honored by the wizarding community, so obviously she has that ambition.

And talk about manipulative. Talking a younger student into retrieving something for her in exchange for a falsified spot in her ‘gang?’ She’ll do about anything to get what she wants. She’s also not going to push the bill, as can be seen in the diary rp. She’s got self-preservation instincts, seeing no need to risk her own skin for another. And, of course, as can be seen by the third rp she’s highly elitist.
